So is anyone not going anymore? (I'm still a fan. lol)

Absolutley cruises are a big source of competition to Disney. Cruises are a great way to travel for peope who don't like unfamiliar things or taking risks as well as for groups with varied mobility or interests which is also a huge part of the appeal of WDW

So is anyone not going anymore? (I'm still a fan. lol)

This exactly , Disney was a way of capturing the adventures of the world in one spot that average folks who were not globe trotters could afford to visit and get a sense of what was "out there" or at least what Disney films showed as being "out there" . International travel is still expensive...

you guys must not be divers or surfers, if you were there is no such thing as boring in the south pacific

I don't disagree with you that it is not the only solution, but the problem with adding capacity is called induced demand. Adding capacity increases crowds it does not diminish them. As can be seen with the recent additions more people come to see the "new thing" rather than the same number of...

Best time to leave ny to wdw on a Friday

driving in the wee hours of the morning is always best if possible. It doesn't feel like "driving at night" if you go to bed at 5pm and wake up at midnight. That is a strategy I use on our very frequent long distance family roadtrips. And the first 8 hours of your drive is not scenic at all so...

Is wdw worth visiting for teens/adults

If they keep bringing it up it sounds like a recipe for a fun trip!

My guess is that park ticket prices would need to double to get crowds back under control, the hotels are already appropriately priced it seems to me, but the park tickets could reasonably be doubled to get crowds under control. It can cost $150 for a lift ticket at a ski resort, WDW could...

Is a few hours worth a day

+1, totally worth it given how cheap it is to add an extra day to a trip that long, even if it is just to do a couple morning fast passes and get a Dole Whip

Is wdw worth visiting for teens/adults

If you have to ask the question then no it may not be worth it for you guys. If your sisters are big Disney fans they will have fun, but at that age its iffy otherwise. Teens who are not big disney fans probably don't think much of people dressed up like cartoon characters nd pricesses and, to...

    does Disney "block" rooms???

There are folks who stay at the campground for months at a stretch ( which boggles my mind, but its true), it is not unusual at all for it to fill up , particularly in the cooler months

Wilderness Lodge No Vacancy for Week after Thanksgiving

The DVC conversion has completely transformed WL to a spot that is tough to find rooms. I have never rented a DVC but it is a great resort and that might be worth looking into

    Disney is fading on me

The only thing I personally don't like about WDW is the crowds and the crowd/dollar ratio, otherwise I love the rides, love the themeing and love the atmosphere. I think you are right, I have had many trips over the years when a 30 minute wait would have been unusually long and 10-15 minutes...

So is anyone not going anymore? (I'm still a fan. lol)

As a kid visiting in the early to mid 80s we would do rides over and over again, just hop right back in line and do it three or four times. One morning my brother and I rode thunder mountain 10 times, no line worth calling a line. Those were the days indeed!

So is anyone not going anymore? (I'm still a fan. lol)

I tell myself that maybe I should see WDW the same way but the thing I come back to though is if its not a "riding rides kind of trip" then the cost of admission is not really worth it. There are thousands of beautiful hotels with great pools, great food and in great locations , often for less...

So is anyone not going anymore? (I'm still a fan. lol)

Although I have a trip planned for August, I have had three trips planned over the past two years and each time when it came to paying the final balance I canceled. I was really excited about the idea of a WDW visit each time and spent months planning out the perfect visit but when it came down...

Relatively quiet areas in the theme parks

As others have said, Tom Sawyers island is the best spot for some quiet time in all the parks. My guess is that it is the least utilized area of MK. There are lots of little quite spots in a forested setting. Very peaceful

    Tipping

I have traveled outside of the US extensively and lived in Europe for a stretch and understand that outside the US tipping has a different expectation associated with it and would have loved to have read your statement before learning that lesson the hard way while abroad. But WDW is in America...
