Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I know. It was more supposed to be a joke/to point that Wall Street plays an enormous role in what Disney does these days. That is the huge driver of any change and why their focus is on Disney+.

If it’s making them money and people continue to pay for it, they aren’t gonna get rid of it. As for negatively affecting guest experience, your account has definitely been an interesting one to read about. I’ve been following it, and it has helped me think about when I might go to the parks in...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Yes, maybe, but as @Jeff4272 just pointed out… the dividends were suspended to encourage investment Disney+, not the parks. So this dream of mass capacity solving rides ect, still just seems like a pipe dream to me. Right now, that’s our reality. I don’t love it, but it’s still where we are...

Well, please feel free to contact Chapek and let him know you’re ordering 10+ rides, parades, eateries, and shows, to be ready within the next year to fix WDW. I’ll be waiting over here, figuring out G+… which is their solution right now, whether you like it or not.

I never said they aren’t trying to fix anything. You yourself pointed to the fact they are adding *some* rides, just not enough, and the line skip systems are their additional way of trying to fix things. You don’t have to like them, but they are an imperfect solution to help solve a capacity...

Define cheap here. Dark rides aren’t gonna cost as much at ROTR but let’s not pretend it wouldn’t likely still be a billion dollar expense to add *multiple* ‘cheap’ dark rides to DHS. Disney Imagineering isn’t exactly known for their cost effective enterprise and building materials have only...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I’m skeptical multiple Dumbos solves the problem, when relatively few people wish to ride it. People are still gonna flock to ROTR and FOP. No amount of additional rides, unless an equivalent E ticket is built, helps their wait times. Not to say all the parks don’t need new rides. They...

Ok… so Fantasmic, Fantasy Faire, and Indiana Jones are on their way back, they just aren’t there yet. We got some Calvacades. Festival of Fantasy is returning soon as well. I’m in agreement that the nighttime show at DHS should return. But if I have to watch MSEP one more time… well, ah no...

I’m not saying there is nothing that they could do to help manage crowds but are more eateries the solution? Adding another 8 Via Napolis is gonna play to a certain crowd but not everyone does the sit down restaurants. Or should they add another 8 mediocre Pinocchio Haus’? Is that really gonna...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Well… they have to work around their crowd/ capacity issues somehow… as you’ve stated.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Seems like that’s what they are electing for at the moment doesn't it? If you tell me that if I stop going, it’ll magically make them change their minds, then I’ll stop going. I’m not trying to antagonize you here. I am mainly just accepting reality as is, for the moment, until I reach my line...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

All right… so what are you wanting Disney to do here? As I said, even if they announced 10 rides being built tomorrow (they aren’t), we wouldn’t likely see the total fruition of that for at least a decade, if not longer. All while still battling ever increasing crowds. There is no quick fix, so...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

It still doesn’t change the reality that nothing changes the capacity issues tomorrow. So if the line skipping system helps, I’m gonna use it, even if it causes issues in the nebulous elsewhere. I never would claim everyone is a super user though, same as with FP+. I always knew my 10-15...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Yeah, this could be true but it doesn’t change reality now. They have under capacity rides for over capacity crowds. The line skipping system helps people navigate that reality. Even if they announced 10 new rides tomorrow, that doesn’t fix the problem for many years to come. And they aren’t...

Kali River Rapids vs Popeye & Bluto's Blige-Rat Barges

Popeye’s by far. Always a guaranteed soaking/near soaking, which is really how a true rapids ride should be designed. Theming is fun and the ride is of solid length. I don’t honestly remember the last time I bothered with KKR. You could nap through that thing and you wouldn’t miss anything.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

The flu is definitely still around. Everyone was just masked and appropriately social distancing last year. Not so much the case now. For instance, there is an outbreak of 500+ cases of Flu A at my local college campus even while our Covid numbers are beginning to rise… again… and our ED wait...

As I said, I haven’t personally reached that line, so for now, I’ll continue to go. Maybe this bothers you. Maybe you already stopped going. But everyone is different on that threshold, and that’s something we all have to recognize. I simply haven’t seen anything park attendance numbers wise...
