I really don't see the big deal. We have been to Disney for a week on property, and yet only done 2 days in the parks (we've done that more than once, actually). I can't imagine being able to go to the parks all day, from morning til night, every single day of vacation. We love an evening...

Same here. We booked 2 rooms under the same name - just have to have your husband check in (and probably out, if necessary). On a side note - if you are going the week preceding July 4th - you probably want to go ahead and get those rooms reserved.
