    Hoop Dee Do? Worth it?

Another plus for us was the fact that Hoop stands alone - it's not promoting the latest Disney movie, it doesn't try to flog you anything. You don't even have to exit through a gift shop! ;)

Trip Report Nov '13 - Surprise, 1/2 Marathon, Paraguayan Family, NOT totally a clusterfudge trip of a lifetime

Oh, so funny - only a parent could say that! Made me think of that scene in "As Good As It Gets" where Helen Hunt's date goes to kiss her and then stops with a horrible look on his face and she says, "It's only a little throw-up" or something like that... Seriously though - a wonderful trip...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

That's London, England? ;) I get on and off the tube at C*ckfosters (the end of the line) and oh, my sweet Lord, you should SEE the stuff they pull off the trains (half-eaten kebabs, nappies and - just this Monday - a bottle of pee). But occasional kebab notwithstanding, the Underground smells...

Trip Report Oh September - we'll miss you so - A Sept 18th to the 27th trip report

What a great TR - and Dead Tim's should give you a bonus for the product placement(s)! ;) I'm originally from Minnesota (almost Canadian, I like to say) and funnily, nothing gives me that I'm in Canada feeling like seeing a Tim Horton's. Mmm...wish they were in London...mmm...

    Epcot's Continued Sad Condition

Oh (opens eyes dramatically) - it's this! I saw The Muppets with my kid a while ago and this problem is addressed. The baddy wants to launch "The Moopets" - a "hard, cynical act for a hard cynical age". The Rainbow Connection just doesn't cut it anymore. Maybe. But I saw The Muppets in a grim...

Trip Report (Completed!) This is Autism - When you add a little Pixie Dust!

Am enjoying your TR enormously! Thank you for your detailed "reporting" on the GAC stuff. Might open eyes on both sides...I, too, am "mean" with my kid (who also has sensory issues). He knows if he's tall enough, he must try it once. At the very least it makes for some amusing ride photos -...

My 19th Visit - 20th Sep for 4 Days VERY DISAPPOINTING

Nice to hear some good news - DLP has always done a good job with the autumn/Halloween stuff. And Ratatouille progess - great! But the state of Main Street has always made me crabby. In a lot of ways, it seems like a cruel trick - look how beautiful and "true to the vision" our MS is - and...

My 19th Visit - 20th Sep for 4 Days VERY DISAPPOINTING

Yes, all this and more (or should that be less?)...DLP has NEVER been as clean or as well-maintained as either American resort. Noticed that first visit - muck and grime everywhere, MUSHROOMS growing out of damp patches in corners and cracks in walls (I took pictures of the fungi - have them...

Is it really that bad, and is it really that good?

I've been pondering this topic for a few days - so sorry - I think this is going to be a LONG post - but it's relevant (or I guess we'll see...). I'm originally from Saint Paul, moved to London to marry my husband (he's from Holloway - c'mon the Gunners blah, blah, blah...). The first few...

    Interacting with the Disney Characters

I am cheap thrifty and didn't want to shell out for the Disney autograph book (I wasn't sure if my son would enjoy collecting autographs) - so I found a blank book with Mickey Mouse on the cover at a charity shop (thrift store) for 30 pence and decorated the pages with stickers (leftovers from...

Universal kicks father out for wearing Police shirt.

Oh, I have a funny story about this sort of thing. My family was at DLP, in the Q for those spinning "Cars" cars, and about six people in front of us was a young Italian guy wearing a t-shirt that said (in English), "S*CK MY..." (I'm sure you can guess the rest). Now I grew up in the nightclub...

At what age to start bringing the kids?

Sorry I'm late to the discussion! We live in London and first took our wee one to DLP when he was 2.5 (I would never have gone during the "nappy years", mostly because my kid had a paralyzing fear of public conveniences). This (age 2.5) was great. It was May - warm but not hot - and we stayed on...

Trip Report 10 days goes too fast in Disney World! July Trip Report

Like others, I joined the site (after lurking for a wee while) just to reply to your TR. I'm the least techie person on the planet - bear with me if this is a mess. Recently, I heard a psychiatrist talk about cheerfulness being the most important and yet the most undervalued part of the human...
