People who want 3D models of the classic looks are missing the point that 2D is a VERY important element of this ride and its new technology. The new shorts are the most popular 2D models of the characters now, and their added presence to the parks is actually more unique than the alternative...

Correct, and I stated my reasons for my hatred. I wasn't aware I had to blindly support every addition, which no one else seems to be doing either. I still like the majority of the announcements.

Yes, that's why I said the current version was a cheap celebrity-filled overlay from 1996. The original so-called classic version hasn't been around for 20 years, so it's weird to be mourning it now.

I don't actually expect it up by the fall, but it would be possible if they really decided to do that. But it should be ready by the start of the new year at least. This ride has been a no brainer for years. It's poor planning at best.
