    Vacation club

Ten years ago my wife and i stayed at Port Orleans and really enjoyed it. At the same time my friend stayed at Saratoga Springs. We paid about $3000. He paid about $7000. Rounding up. When we checked out Saratoga time share, we could get the room my friend got for 7 days, for 50 years for...

News New Theater to be built at the Magic Kingdom - now cancelled?

When i first saw the plans for the theatre, i thought to myself that there must have been some last minute “Hey everybody, this Magic Kingdon stuff seems light” talk at the conference room. Then a “we could always do an homage to Walt with some new attraction”. Finally a, “Let’s suggest a...

Layoffs underway at Walt Disney World

I used to wonder “ why those shops at DS?”. Then I had a major foot catastrophe after buying new sneakers for my last WDW trip at a discount shoe store. I bought a pair of new Brooks at the Fit 2 Run store. Those shoes saved my trip. I figure with the visits in excess of millions, those...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

MK has a great story with a strong finally Epcot has the same. So, as a guest I'm expecting 1. A story line. 2. A strong finish While RoL has a decent story, it fails to produce the majesty. It falls flat on description. Pretty spiraling lotus blossoms are great, but what exactly do they...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

Thank you! I have been to WDW at least twice yearly for the past 10 years. Sometimes the cabins are a slight piquant, sometimes no. A lot, I think, has to do with the disinfectant: the non bleach/ammonia product used in a lot of hospitals smells that way. I believe many forget just how many...

'Maria and Enzo' Italian Restaurant coming to Disney Springs this fall

The Adventuers Club always kept me entertained until closing, every time I went there. It was the same for everyone I knew, dentists, teachers, mechanics, it didn’t matter the level of education or age. I don’t understand why that venue disappeared. If it was not profitable enough, I don’t...

Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

This is a question. (Maybe I give WDI more credit than they deserve) Could WDW as a whole be evolving? If you step away from the map, could each park be a land? Animal kingdom=Adventureland EPCOT=Tomorrowland Hollywood Studios=(Can't be) Liberty Square MagicKingdom=Fantasyland...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

EPCOT, it's been said before in this thread, was never Walt's dream. I've read before(don't remember what book) that the idea of EPCOT morphed into a world's fair like theme: future world for the accomplishments/potential of humanity, and world showcase, a celebration of the differences in how...

Rumor Brazil is the frontrunner for a new World Showcase Pavilion

I thinks Brazil because of all the tourists, and maybe it would finally represent the South American continent. that would leave the need for Australia.

Rumor Brazil is the frontrunner for a new World Showcase Pavilion

If the trend is to infuse IP into the World showcase, what attraction does WDI put in Brazil? If there is no new IP, does that mean IP is not mandatory on all new construction? Most importantly, can I get a caparina there?

    Monstropolis Coming to DHS?

Imagine, if you will, a time and WDW park that is based on acquired IPs. Pixar, Lucas films, maybe Jim Henson. Central Hub a homage to the Mouse that started it all. If Marvel contract wasn't so convoluted, It would fit here. But don't we all see the future of all things Marvel exclusively...

Na'vi River Journey reviews, comments and questions

I have been anticipating my trip to Pandora, expecting a Meh experience. I have read there are no hidden mickeys and the Navi river ride is a new it's a small world. 1. Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the place. It's an immersive area that, at the very least, blows Camp Minnie...

Streets of America Development Watch (no longer DEMO)

Marn, if ST is going away, leaving everything open from MV onwards, is there even a hint or thought as to what may go into that Indiana Jones, ST area? Seems like a lot of "dead space". Thanks for any thoughts.

Now Pandora is open... what is your grade and does it make AK better?

AK has always been my family's favorite as well. There is no lack of negative comments out there, but it has been my opinion that those naysayers are jaded. Dinoland seems cheap and an after thought (ok, it is a cost saving after thought), but my daughter is 9 years old now. In the 18 trips...

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Thanks for the reply. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but repurposing Star tours makes sense. Or, and I've been thinking about this for a while, maybe Ewoks can meander back and forth between SWL and Star Tours, melding both IPs?! Sorry.

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I'm new at this, please forgive me if this has been asked or answered, but If Star Tours is where it is and The Muppets Courtyard is where it is, how does one get from Star Tours to the new Star Wars Land without bumping into a muppet?
