Poll: Trip Insurance... Good Idea or Waste of Money?

No mater where we go I err on the side of caution and buy insurance but usually go through AAA for it. Their insurance is (in most cases) more comprehensive than many others.

Been off the grid...how's Oct 2018 looking?

So...I've been off the forums for a while and not at WDW since 2013. I just found out I may have a convention to attend in October of 2018 so that may be the catalyst that gets us out of Disney hibernation. I'm curious what the anticipated state of construction and the parks is looking like for...

Likelihood of AK hours being extended in October?

We were in MK during EMH's when it was open until 1AM....it was awesome. Pretty much zero strollers and most people leave due to exhaustion. Space Mountain was literally a walk on...DD and I rode it 4 times in a row. Get yourself an afternoon nap and take advantage of it definitely!

    WDW's Heyday

Been going since 1977... in my own personal opinion as it pertains to our particular visits 1996 was the peak (with the exception of Cinderella Cakestle)

Most memorable Magical Moment you ever had!

Back in 2008 we were taking pics in front of the mast head at POTC. A castmember (Nathan) asked if we wanted to have him snap a pic of all of us. We thanked him and had him snap a picture for us. After that he asked "are you guys going to ride pirates of the caribbean? We told him yes and he...

    Most treasured Disney Souvenir?

Truthfully...my memories of walks around Coronado Springs in the early mornings talking and connecting with DD while mama bear got herself put together for the day back at the room are the most treasured things I have ever taken away from our Disney vacations. You cannot get these days back...

When will Epcot get some love?

I'd just be thrilled beyond belief to see closed areas re-opened / re-imagined. Odyssey, WOL pavilion, Millennium Village, upstairs at Imagination and The Captain EO theater to mention a few before we go opening new areas. "Special Events" is a thinly veiled "move along...nothing to see here."

    Scariest Animatronic ?

Judging by the reactions of kids during "It's a bug's life" I would say hands down Hopper gets it!

    Do you like Tomorrowland Speedway/Autopia?

Of the two who makes their biggest nut off of internal combustion technology? I just personally think an entirely electric company could put a better effort into it...but that's just me.

    Do you like Tomorrowland Speedway/Autopia?

I'd rather see Tesla get involved. I would imagine they could do an entire green attraction where the ride vehicle recharge would be facilitated by creative use of their new solar array shingle technology. I see Tesla actually putting in the legwork towards a truly remarkable upgrade whereas GM...

Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

LOL...always nice to see a katiebug update

    Do you like Tomorrowland Speedway/Autopia?

I know for many there is nostalgia associated with it and speaking as someone who has been going since 1977 I can say I guess I can understand that but my own personal thoughts are that by keeping this attraction open and un-updated is really just Disney phoning it in and using nostalgia as an...

You are a Disney uberfan if....

You've both (DW and DH) sat at 6:59 on two separate phone lines exactly 180 days from arrival with 9 of 10 digits dialed to Disney dining to press the tenth number at exactly 6:59 and 50 seconds EST to get a seat at Cinderella's Royal Table for your three year old daughters first trip (circa...

Anyone else worrying that Pandora is lipstick on a pig?

I think they will have put their best foot forward (or at least that is my hopes). I do still question though going so deep into a franchise they hold no stake in...THAT makes me scratch my head and I kind of keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

    Next 'land' for Hollywood Studios

I would say let's see what they have to offer with the two new lands before looking farther into the future. If they hit it out of the park with these lands then by all means dream away but if the new lands fall short, have untenable infrastructure or unmanageable long lines then I would say to...

What would you do IN Disney World with unlimited money?

Buy out the MK and Epcot for 24 hours along with the entire concierge floor at Beach Club and Yacht club, make them open all attractions fully staffed, invite all my friends, let another 3000 or so people in (because empty parks would feel weird) and have the best day ever without fastpass and MM+.

    Favourite smells at WDW

I know this one is odd but the smell of the queue for SSE. Maybe because it is usually our first ride each trip but something about that smell of electric motors, plastic and air conditioning that wafts out the entryway as you enter the ride building somehow in my mind has ended up being...
