News Disney's top executives arrive at Walt Disney World for a global retreat

I assumed they were at Epcot yesterday - for as we walked around WS, I noticed all the daytime fountains working at once. Looked bad. Still. I didn’t see suits anywhere, but then I remembered they will be one with us. So, Bob was probably in his “Drinking around the world” shirt

    Guardians Review

We did it yesterday. My wife is SUPER prone to motion sickness, and even took a motion pill before going on. She also gets migraines a lot. I thought it was different and fun but I couldn’t really enjoy because I knew she was suffering! And when we got off, she had to sit down. I saw maybe...

Price Hikes Galore! (Genie+ variable pricing, ILL, refillable mugs, SWGE lightsaber and droids)

Disney seems like the only place I can vacation where the real world gets left behind for a week. Doesn’t creep into my brain at all. For me, other vacations don’t make me forget about the world for a week or 2. A week at WDW always feels like more than 7 days when I get home … That’s kind...

do you have a strategic plan for the parks or do you just wing it?

Just an example - Couple of years ago when SWge opened - we happened to be there that week. One day, headed to MK, decided we wanted to see Xmas decorations at wilderness lodge. So took a boat over Stopped in Geyser point for lunch and a few beers, then to disney springs to see Xmas stuff...

do you have a strategic plan for the parks or do you just wing it?

We used to plan. But always had more fun going off script. So what worked for us was making less plans or just loose ideas for places to visit while there. We live in the “other” 50% of people who don’t Genie, so we try to ride our favorites when times are down, and not against doing ILL a...

    Resort hopping these days

Thanks for the replies! The main reason I even asked - Last trip this spring, we had a split stay with one night at Boulder Ridge- as we were leaving, my wife suggested we walk the trails back there, but we were pressed for time to get to next resort and stuff… We are back at AKL next week...

    Resort hopping these days

With most covid restrictions relaxed these days- I am just wondering the success of resort hopping these days without dinner reservations. I know we can get there by bus, just asking for driving car to resort hop. Has anyone done this recently successfully?

What is your perfect day at the parks???

Waking up - having a coffee in ‘my’ area of AKL. Heading out to moderately to low crowded park of choice that I didn’t have to reserve. Park hop to wherever, whenever. End the day at Epcot pre sunset to walk around WS with the wife and a beer or two as sun sets. Hang out until...
