Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

It also stops when: -Advisory bodies like the CDC and WHO release definitive changes to their recommendations, a process that is driven by constant review of data but is subject to delays in interpreting and coordinating messaging of that data. -The message has a chance to filter down through...

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

My issue with show / attraction / role playing game / experience framing is the length of experience. None of those things (including escape rolmsast more than a few hours, or involve sleeping on the set. ‘Cruise’ remains the best analogy, and one that people can probably identify with from an...

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

The fact that we as informed fans with insider information can’t figure out what exactly this is thing is supposed to be means that TWDC is going to have a massive issue marketing and providing an experience that meets the expectations of the target audience. I predict there’s going to be lots...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I can appreciate and understand the logic behind your attitude on this, but ‘that’s not my problem’ has been a big part of the problem since day one of Covid.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Of all the mitigation to be annoyed at, I’m a little surprised to see plexiglass pretty high up on lists. In my opinion, for better or our worse it’s likely something that may wind up sticking around years longer then anything else. The store around the corner that hurriedly slapped up some...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

Convert WS lagoon to a salt water habitat and buy out Sea World. Orcas get tons of room and a big Stargate hoop to jump though - it’s a win for all! ... joking aside, it’s a complicated matter compounded by the fact that it’s not likely viable to return these orcas successfully to the wild...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

My personal experience I related a few pages back makes it hard for me to be completely biased anymore about this. I’m not jumping to conclusions that there’s a greater conspiracy, but based on my conversations with front line health personnel in the last week I think it may be possible there’s...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I received the J&J vaccine last week. About 2 minutes after receiving it, I had a classic vasovagal syncope episode and fainted out cold for about 30 seconds on the floor of the CVS pharmacy I was at with my wife. I have never had that kind of a reaction to any sort of needle in my life. I had...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

How many people does one voice on this forum potentially represent? How many people share the same feelings but never speak up or complain about it and just change their behavior? We are the canary in the coal mine for the general public. If they lose us, there’s likely much bigger issues in the...

Social distanced Fantasmic coming by February.

My go-to for entertainment schedules has always been http://wdwent.com/ In addition to the current ‘modified’ roster it lists everything that was running prior to last March that is now still listed as ‘temporarily unavailable’.

The trick is to pull a line looking at the ground plan, not the tops of the buildings.

A lower attendance future for WDW?

The keys are intended to compliment each other, and are presented in that order for a reason. Efficiency should be a tool to enable better show, courtesy, and safety... but it should definitely not take priority to the other three keys. That’s outside the point of this discussion though...

    Updates to the Seas Pavilion

This thread is still about Epcot. The problem is other places in the world do Epcot better then Epcot itself does now.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Theme a hotel in that location as a big blue box, and then at least we’d have some sort of symmetry restored at the front of the park.

Spotlights return to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Do we have any word on what lighting fixture they are using for this effect? Back in the day I believe Studios and Pleasure Island were using actual ‘SkyTracker’ units.

Spotlights return to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Prior to Test Track, I doubt any one EPCOT attraction was responsible for gate clicks on its own. It was about the greater experience. The WS films may not have stood out, but are important in the ‘sum of its parts’ calculation... much like no one is coming to HS to look at some spotlights.

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

Architectural lighting evolves along with society and technology. There’s a new office building that just went up here that has a very prominent color-changing LED lighting package. I think it’s a little over the top, for an office building, but then again it’s just copying what we’re seeing...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

I don’t recall a date ever being announced pre-covid, but I seem to remember the buzz was for an October 1 premiere much moreso then summer. In March 2020 the barges weren’t even in the water yet, let alone the vertical work started... and that has taken months. I highly doubt they could have...
