Not pre-fab, but a kit. A pre-designed model with some alterations to fit Disney's liking. Also, looking at the new wood grain, yes, those are completely new doors. They operate the same, they're both sliding wood doors, but the new ones look MUCH better and have a nice wood grain to them...

When I looked at the Armstrong steel kits/designs it looked similar to the dland structure when it was going up.

They removed the original fake hinges and vastly improved the faux metal work. Looks proper now. My only question is, why on earth was the inital metalwork installed as such???

Ran the Palm Springs Santa Paws 5k on Saturday (not my photo)- The run comes with a Santa costume... lets just say mine was pretty ragged by the end. We visited the Living Desert zoo afterward and had a great day... but beware... there is ALWAYS a Burrowing Owl somewhere judging you...

Of note regarding the treehouse... I was out in Palm Springs this weekend and visited the Living Desert zoo... While watching the giraffes, near one of the feeding stations, there was a sudden random act of ostrich head that popped up and looked at us from behind the fence... then dropped down...

I hate those wall lights. They're not even full size. They're half in the wall like some sort of weird stick on light that immitates a full wall sconce style light that for some ungodly reason is half embedded in the wall. This is nickle and dime cheap apartment complex post 2008 stuff here...

Reporting from on location at the D... the new queue... looks nice. Music needs to turned down about 2 clicks. Thousands of guests are lost though as you can't see Haunted Mansion from anywhere anymore.

Yeah, I think thats the thing... it sticks out like a sore thumb. Out of scale, out of theme, little to no character, and looks cheap. It's blatantly cheap sitting next to the Haunted Mansion and Harbour Galley.

I haven't followed the Mansion projects at all. Was this really a thought back during construction?

I too had a ride that made me scream with utter terror when I was younger... Screamed bloody murder... my parents couldn't get me on it. No way in hell I was letting them have me go into Monstro's mouth...
