    Best Resort for the Money

I'll toss in another vote for AKL. It always seems to come out cheaper than the other deluxes and the resort is absolutely amazing. I think it is a great value. I've stayed there four times now and can't wait to get back. If you decide to step down to a moderate I really enjoy POR. Quiet...

    I have a Disney Secret

On the last day of every job I have left, I leave hidden mickeys behind in my office and in the building. In black marker. Some super hidden, some not so much. I worked for one company for 14 years, and everyone knew my WDW obsession. I left about 29 there. I actually lost count. I still hear...

WDW Souvenirs You Want or Collect

Pretty much anything monorail related. :)

    Epcot to the Contemporary

We've done the monorail to CR before and enjoy it. Do what we do and take your time exiting the park. We typically hang out and enjoy the evening and let the crowds head out and then wander to the front. By that point there's usually little to no line for the monorail. More than once we've...

No room clean up at animal kingdom lodge

Disappointing to read about these experiences at AKL as it's our favorite resort and all of my stays there have been top notch. I know there was a change in management at many of the resort hotels several months back, and I was wondering if there might be some correlation with that. Pure...

    Top tips for Animal Kingdom

By all means make sure you do the Pangani Exploration Trail and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Take your time and explore them. Totally worth it.

Disney Pulls Starbucks Mug from Epcot Shelves

I didn't want to believe it so I looked for myself. Ridiculous. I am amazed at the bidding activity on some of these. I enjoy collecting Disneyana, but $175 for a coffee mug (that will just be replaced by one in a different color) is nuts.

    Room upgrade at AKL

Our last trip there was booked through Travelocity (better discount actually) and upon arrival, the CM let us know we had been upgraded from a pool view to Savannah view. I was gearing up for my "It's my girlfriend's first trip here and is there any chance of an upgrade?" speech and she beat me...

    Disney Parks Playlist

I listen to www.live365.com more than I should. There are a number of WDW related, or Disney Parks related, channels there. I have about 4 in my favorites. :)

Has anyone ever tried Hollywood and Vine?

Did the breakfast a few years ago. We were with a couple with kids so they loved the characters....the food was fine, nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible. As with most of the character meals, I think they are vastly overpriced.

    Rainforest Cafe? (Animal Kingdom)

It's not bad. As others have said, huge menu so lots of choices. I feel it's a better experience than the one at DTD. The atmosphere is fun, a little tacky, but worth doing if you haven't been to one before.

Do you think it is time to update our nighttime spectacular parade? Possibly Paint The Night Parade?

It amazes me that after 40+ years of operating a massive entity like WDW in the environment that is Florida, the powers that be can still not have the foresight to properly store something like a parade float so as to keep it from deteriorating. :banghead::banghead::banghead: I'd like to see a...

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

US and THEY (THEM?) I hadn't really thought of it that way until recently. Really as I spent time in this thread to be honest. I realize more and more that I readily embrace my being an "US". I'm happy to be one. I know what the parks used to be like, and what they could be again. I...

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

No, when it comes to the parks, especially domestic parks, Disney seems to be much more focused on giving the people what Disney wants. Room prices are priced out of reach, ticket prices are high, and I don't think anyone has been clamoring for less entertainment and less availability of...
