News Disneyland to give Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride a major facelift in 2020

Cute! But why is there still a scary mountain behind her? 😂

Wait. You’re telling me that the Laughin’ Place dip drop soaks you even more now? That was always the worst for me.

Comfiest Rides at DL and DCA

Pirates has generous leg room and that nice gentle floating motion, but the hard, unsupportive seats start to kill me near the end of the lengthy ride. I’d give the honor of all-around comfiest to the Tiki Room booths in the back, comfiest single seat to Indiana Jones, and comfiest bench seats...

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

The whole WDW Mansion setup reminds me a lot of the Hogwarts/FJ setup. Enter and exit below the forced-perspective subject. Lofty building is visible from distance.

News Disneyland to give Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride a major facelift in 2020

That’s pretty reassuring, and the tidbit that they slowed the ride down 25% is a huge surprise. I can’t wait!

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

I’ve never consciously considered it before, but that’s actually a good argument for WDW. Their double doors are right in front of you in the queue and are consistently closed between groups. When they’re ready for the next group, the maid or butler swings the doors open dramatically and you...

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

I’m going to settle this once and for all. In Florida you really don’t have much sense of direction by the time you get to the door, and it is weird and it does kind of feel like you’re going underground. I also happen to like it a lot. Case closed?

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

While I appreciate how the WDW facade differs from ours (ours is more “immersive!” and pleasant while Florida’s is more moody and rural), the canopy is a real shame, even moreso post-2007 since it was widened. I totally agree, the space taken up by that insipid interactive queue should have been...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

But was King Louie intentionally visible from the Jungle Cruise? 🤔 The other unique thing I love about the Magic Kingdom is how visible the steam train is from outside the park on the East, so that it can be seen from the Contemporary and express monorail approach. It makes the “show” look...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Love this! This is a very cool, heightened reality, iconic Disney sort of aesthetic akin to seeing Cinderella Castle from Main Street or the Matterhorn from the Mark Twain. There’s so much more to great design than narrow, literal replications of a certain setting for the sake of “immersion.”...

Current DLR Rides and Attractions You Haven't Experienced

I haven’t been on the Pixar Pal-a-Round since its swinging gondola scarred me for life as the Sun Wheel in 2001. I guess I missed Mickey’s Fun Wheel entirely. Wait... but the Mickey face is still on it, right? So aesthetically, it’s still kind of half-fun wheel?

For real. I’ll applaud Zach if he ever posts evidence of a currently employed Imagineer touching a piece of real paper!

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

I groaned so hard when El Toro Ryan, as detailed as he is, repeated the myth in his new (and otherwise pretty neat) video on Everest. Why won’t it die???

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Refusing to sell tickets to an out-of-state billing address may have been a good idea logistically and made for greater clarity, but listen...Disney wants your money. It wants your money now.

News Disneyland to give Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride a major facelift in 2020

It looked better from farther away, before I knew it was so...digital. Otherwise I like the composition.

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

Right. What I’m trying to say is, now it appears that the queue no longer cuts through to the load belt in a straight line as pictured here, but has been squished off to the side, hugging the angles of the back wall, while a divider now squishes up on the left side of the queue. Maybe it allows...

Haunted Mansion to Return with New Enhancements and Magic :(

What’s going on in the middle of the room, behind the divider? Didn’t the queue shoot a straight line from the gallery to the load belt? Now it hugs the wall like it’s making room for something. Even in Phantom Manor, where they have staring busts in place of our new April-December, I think...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

USH is a weird park, crowd-wise. Lines can be nonexistent on one side of the park and 90 minutes on the other side, and then later in the day, switch. I credit it to the park’s odd (and awesome) layout. Just try to go where the crowds aren’t and you shouldn’t have to wait long, and you’ll hit...
