    Jungle Cruise Update

Good point! Based on the poster’s other recent comments I had assumed it was another uncomfortable attempt at being cute and edgy. Which I still kind of think it was.

    Jungle Cruise Update

Wasn’t the Ganesha statue an authentic item rather than a fabricated prop, or was that just an urban legend? Either way, I wonder what happened to it. “Bring back the swastika” is quite a leap from “Speaking of Indian religious symbols.” 🙄

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

The new Epcot font is growing on me. At first I doubted its readability due to its excess of style, but mostly I’m finding it dresses up the place and does its job very well. Even if the new logo looks like EPOOT. ;)

    Zenia Mucha to retire

🙄 Would everyone please take your seats? I think we all agree about Mucha so there’s no need to get into yet another fight with each other because you like or don’t like your Star Wars lately.

A bedtime story for Robot Chapek before he recharges his batteries

THIS is an excellent point. And also my hope for Epcot. 🙏

A bedtime story for Robot Chapek before he recharges his batteries

If anything, Tropical Hideaway is kind of a triumph in the battle against movie tie-ins and for good revitalization of space. There’s no dinner theater, but Adventureland needed more common chill-out area and this did the trick.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I’ve been holding in this comment for two years. Ready? This thread’s title should be “Figment to be replaced by, well, Figment.” It’s a subtle difference in meaning that has bugged me every time I looked at this thread. Since this thread is meandering a bit I thought I’d share with the class...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

The rebar you’re seeing isn’t following the path the train will take, which makes me guess it’s for a planter or retaining wall.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Or, in my case, find Galaxy’s Edge to be a rather lovely land with one great ride and one disappointing one, and desperately needing more entertainment and that restaurant.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Fair, when you put it that way. Galaxy’s Edge needs the entertainment we were promised.

News Disneyland modifies mask policy - UPDATE 7/28/21

Not until Disneyland settles on their own protocol changes. Expect it to take a few days, at least, and then it may not be all at once.

CLIFFLIX - "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth 2021" - Live Premiere and video chat

Definitely newsworthy as far as I’m concerned! You have stunningly preserved RoE for future generations. Can’t wait to see your latest edit.

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

Weird critique. Docking Bay 7 is a miss, for me at least. Ronto Roasters rules. In fact, the blue milk, from the OT, is another miss for me.

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

Or, you show him a slideshow of how he is LESS timeless, LESS Disney, and I can't remember the third one, but as a consequence Ultron is partially shut down, given a new coat of paint, and half of him is removed while the other half is reprogrammed to sing Disney songs and blink colorful lights.

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure to use Virtual Queue

Whatever it is, it’s the same height as the elevators in the AT-AT scene. 25-ish feet? The drop isn’t just for thrill, it’s necessary to get you back to ground level. “What goes up…!” and all that.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Oh, absolutely. Disney cites “inclusion” as the reason for replacing Splash, and I don’t believe that’s completely honest. Merchandising must be a huge factor, sure, but don’t underestimate the opportunity to unload a problematic IP and further scrub Song of the South from existence. Not that I...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

All fair points, but we must remember that SotS isn’t just another Snow White or Princess in the Frog, who have played host to concerns here and there over the years. Song of the South is famously one of the most controversial and taboo works of mainstream film in history.

    Disneyland officially reopening April 30th

They do not sing, neither do they dance. They pretty much do what Vi does: Exist, interact with guests, and make the land feel real and inhabited.
