Iger and Chapek Livid With Lucasfilm

Kennedy’s job involves a lot of non-creative, ‘boring’ work that Filoni likely wouldn’t have much interest in taking on, though. Even now Filoni has had to step back a bit from directly leading projects now that he’s covering all of their animation division. Also, Kennedy’s an easy scapegoat...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

So Guardians stays on track and Tron gets pushed, then? I suppose that makes sense. Magic Kingdom will be the first park to bounce back from all of this, and Epcot has been in trouble for a while.

News Announced: Mary Poppins Attraction in UK Pavilion

They’ve got an in-universe venue to do so if that’s the route they wanted to take. Build the Royal Doulton Music Hall, take a few songs from Returns and a few songs from the original to make a thirty minute revue. As we’ve seen with Runaway Railway, they could do large-scale sets with mapping...

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Yep, it was during filming of IX. There’s a behind the scenes video about it somewhere, but I can’t remember where it is.

News Remy's Ratatouille Adventure coming to Epcot

Even beyond that, Rat (and more importantly the mini land it resides in) carried the burden of fixing the studios park, a concrete wasteland of warehouses, cheap clones, and garish decor that made the worst parts of DCA and DHS look like DisneySea in comparison.

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I think Leia’s absence is due to Fisher’s passing. They filmed the sequences for Rise of the Resistance during IX’s filming, and I imagine the Rey hologram would’ve been Leia if Fisher were still around by then.

Slinky Dog Dash rider experience and comments

If Slinky were in the Magic Kingdom, I think I’d have more gripes with it’s intensity, but as the family counterpart to Rockin’ Rollercoaster, I think it’s right in the sweet spot. My primary issue with it is that the theming after the second launch is nonexistent until you get back to unload...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

A question: could the tunnel being built for the train do anything to obscure the show building from any part of the park? I’m having a real hard time visualizing where the train fits into all this.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

No car misses the gist of the plot, and every car has the opportunity to pick up on a detail that the others might miss in any given room. The first part is integral to the ride’s narrative success. The second is a feature, and one that invites rerides. Having far more detail and intriguing...

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Is there just not enough time to split people up and get them into rows before the next train arrives? Or does it have to do with the pre-show?

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway SPOILER Thread

There is absolutely a depth effect going on. It made me think of the multi plane camera display they have in Walt Disney Presents, and it looks great in person.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I haven’t been on Rise, but this ride feels out of control in a good way. It’s no rollercoaster, but it’s more Mr. Toad than Peter Pan.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway SPOILER Thread

It’s unthemed f, but less noticeable than Great Movie Ride because the scenes with an exposed ceiling fade up into black (including the ductwork) vs the brown crisscrossing slats of Great Movie Ride. It was most noticeable in the undersea scene, but again, that’s where we got stuck, so that may...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway SPOILER Thread

Yeah, I get what you mean, but I will say that Hagrid’s previews were the same way, and that ride turned out great. Plus, it was nice as someone who struggles to avoid spoilers to go in with essentially no idea of what it would all look like. Also also, that park needs the ride to absorb...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway SPOILER Thread

I don’t think the ride is going to photograph well on the whole. It’s possible they fear people will watch a ride-through and judge it off of that.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway SPOILER Thread

Haven’t been on Rise, but for me, the attraction starts with the pre-show and ends with walking back through the screen. That’s not to oversell it, just to say that the pre-show is a good overture and the exit is a nice button to the experience.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway SPOILER Thread

Got to ride it today! It’s very cute, but I can’t really say how I felt about it as a whole because we got stopped halfway through, which of course completely killed the momentum and affected my perception. With that said, here are some random thoughts: Pre-show was great, and was very...

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

It does seem as though we are having a Haunted Mansion renaissance, where the coolest parts of the attraction all happen before anyone gets into a vehicle. I will say that I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing, as long as the ride that follows is of high quality.

News Spaceship Earth Refurb - 2 Year Closure

Sounds like Mystic Manor’s conceit, just taken as a symbolic rather than literal ‘sparkle’ being applied to things as we ride through each scene. If the ride is shifting it’s focus from communications to storytelling, I’d imagine the light’s function will be to highlight what advances or...

Mandalorian and Grogu meet and greet for Walt Disney World

I think it’s gonna be more about logistics than about theming, to be honest. If the child is represented as a non-mechanized puppet, then Mando can carry him around the area and roam like Rey, Chewbacca, the stormtroopers, etc. If the child is going to be more involved than that (animatronic...
