Why aren’t there more stand alone DVC resorts?

Got to the beach all the time - and we have never considered HH or Vero. Not fans of HH in general (been several times) and well have better beaches in less than half the drive

Why do you think people still go to WDW?

When we did Soarin in DL last year - I remembered how the original Soarin' was just so incredible. The new one while incredible lacks the theme of the first

Why do you think people still go to WDW?

Went last month; had an unique opportunity to do a trip with my daughter who graduated college. It was not the WDW we are use to doing, including what we did in March when we closed the parks down. But it was still Disney World, it was still great accommodations, and incredible attractions. And...

Be Our Guest Is A Joke....OK, Somewhat

Well some of us not NYC have to get use to the sticker shock. I will say last time I found paying $14 bucks for a burger at Geyser Point was actually not bad and worth it.

Let's talk Disney again... WDW comparisons and musings from a DL fan-

Did DL in January, WDW in March when it closed (surreal experience on every level) and just back 10 days ago. I noticed a difference in my CM encounters this time. I chalked it up to the fact the CMs are not engaging with guests due to COVID. They seemed well cold at times, but I then realized...

Be Our Guest Is A Joke....OK, Somewhat

BOG is now don't eat there territory - frankly the same can be said for Royal Table. Incredible dining locations with poor dining.

Joe Rohde announces retirement from WDI

Must be in the minority. We found Guardians of the Galaxy a great ride. I thought it was well done Until the actual ride. We found ToT pre Gaurdians in DCA to be really overwhelming for sure.

Politics Theme Park Reopening Guidelines to be released 10/20/20

Call me confused but based upon what we gave seen at WDW where the line for Slinky Dog may start by Voyage of Mermaid - and how tight DL can be, not sure how DL could really do the WDW plan. It seems that what Newsome wants?

News Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin to eliminate 1136 employees

I hate business travel - my kids think it is all fun. For me, it was basically hotel, gym, hotel - conference room all day and then dinner - then the email I could not do during the day. Remember going to the Upper Mid-west in Feb. with a wind chill of negative 15 where I never saw the sun most...

News Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin to eliminate 1136 employees

Be interesting to see if business travel even returns 50% - pre-pandemic we were trying more Zoom/remote - post - pandemic I might rarely get on a plane. At least my last business trip let me hit up DL.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

My employer is saying self-quarantine for 14 days if you get on a flight for personal travel. Not enforceable actually.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

LOL - expecting a 20 year old me to practice social distancing around a bunch of coeds - not even remotely feasible or reasonable explanation.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

That is what I suspect. Also DCP living conditions are dorms - very hard to quarantine and primed for COVID spread. Not hard to envision a mass spread in the DCP program of asymptomatic cases.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

CP fall 2020 program cancelled - but to me that is more about $$ - but it may create some staffing challenges.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Go back to 9/11 - we went in Feb 2002 and the parks were empty - came back in October in 2003 for an unprecedented pay for 4 get 7 package for WDW. I think we are looking at years here. What is really going to hurt are all the business outside of WDW - those smaller resorts, etc. the 192...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

I think they open in spite of the numbers. Frankly, it is too close to pull the plug from an optics view. But the harder question is how many folks will to come to WDW with the rising cases (or that matter DL as LA county is really rising too). Double edge sword - limited capacity so it creates...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Regardless of how the number is calculated, Disney has to be very nervous. Example The Publix behind MK has a covid case - so its pretty much everywhere.

Who should be excluded to help with the overcrowding problem.

I am going in 3 weeks back to WDW and I am 5 weeks out from visiting DL. Not having FP+ and not having to make ADRs right at 180 days was great at DL. And we went the day Rise opened at DL so yes it was plenty crowded. Both days we score Rise BG but that's a whole different thread. I think after...

    Eisner

Eisner is the one who transformed Disney into the engine it is today. the animation studio got back on its footing, the parks and things like DVC all came on Eisner's watch. We can argue all day about the Parks being better in x year than today, but we are seeing incredible investment across all...
