Advice/suggestions appreciated on a possible visit to Universal

Depends what you mean by adventurous, also how much of a Harry Potter fan. If you’ll ride Big Thunder Mountain, and Star tours then there will be enough for most with Gringotts, Simpsons etc. If you’ll do Rock’n’rollercoaster then probably most rides except Hulk and Velocicoaster are likely...

Advice/suggestions appreciated on a possible visit to Universal

October won’t be that crowded. We just did a trip in the first week of September (forgot it was Labour Day) and the longest we waited was 75 minutes for Velocicoaster and for Spider-Man when outdoor attractions were closed due to lightning. One of the worst for nausea can be Forbidden Journey...

    Universal Studios Fall From Grace

The best part of the Simpsons area is the food court and the facades, plus the queue gags before boarding. The ride is the only thing that lets it down. Fast and Furious is probably the thing that lets the park down most, that really should have been a different IP with a physical set based...

News New watercraft 'Tradewinds' joins the motor cruiser fleet

The boats at Universal are better as they still look cute but have a section for wheelchairs that offers level boarding (with a small ramp).

    Cinderella Royal Table breakfast cutbacks/changes

It’s been individually plated entrées for 10 years or so hasn’t it? Don’t think they ever really did family style for the main course at CRT?

Jurassic Park River Adventure vs Splash Mountain

Why not compare Splash to Dudley Do-Rights? Trying to compare a shoot-the-chutes style ride to a log flume style ride doesn’t make any sense.

    All-day-dining

Thanks that’s pretty much exactly what I wanted to know. As the dining I basically free with the UK tickets at the moment I’m not too bothered about getting multiple meals but it’s good to know it’s easy to get multiple sodas.

    All-day-dining

So I’ve just booked a spur of the moment trip to Florida to do Universal and the Seaworld parks. The UK tickets for Seaworld/Busch/Aquatica at the moment include one visit to each park and all day dining! I know the all day dining is now one visit to a counter service restaurant every 90minutes...

    Magic bands?

I did expect you to, to be honest. 😊 I assumed it was bad wording too.

    Magic bands?

Nothing is "on" the magicband except a reference number. As long as the bands are linked in the MDE profile they just work. Your tickets are stored in your profile and any ticket card (physical or digital) or band that is linked to the profile will work. They won't take the bands to the room...

    Universal Studios Fall From Grace

That was my point too in response to someone who wanted the shows replaced.

    Universal Studios Fall From Grace

Although Bourne stunt show replaced Terminator stunk show, Shrek 3D replaced Alfred Hitchcock films. Those locations have always been shows ever since attractions opened in those spaces.

    Universal Studios Fall From Grace

Nemesis at Alton Towers UK is getting most of the track replaced next year, opened in 1994 its coming up to 30 years old and therefore time for replacement. There has been discussions about Kumba at Busch Gardens getting removed (although the park later confirmed its not going anywhere), but not...

    Universal Studios Fall From Grace

I think the pandemic related delays to Epic Universe is part of the issue too. If that park was on the original schedule of 2023, then we would be looking at USF additions in 2024/25. but now Epic Universe is 2025 I don't expect there will be anything huge at USF until 2027.

Multiple entertainment offerings no longer listed - June 2022

Yep BatB needs to be replaced too. Indiana Jones does need a refresh, but should be possible to make a new version and keep a stunt show, whereas Little Mermaid is a set story, so needs a newer film to replace it.

Multiple entertainment offerings no longer listed - June 2022

The Little Mermaid show just needs replacement. It’s a 30 year old show, time for something new.

How much weight do I need to lose for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey?

Everest is just a lap bar. Rock & Roller is the only Disney coaster at WDW with overhead restraints, but they are not in a style that is restrictive to the chest, they sit more on the shoulders. Whereas more modern style restraints have a maximum chest diameter that Universal and Seaworld...

How much weight do I need to lose for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey?

It definitely happens, many many guests can't ride Seven Dwarves as they don't fit. The difference is Disney don't publish a maximum chest size, it is down to whether the lap bar closes or not. Whereas rides with overhead restraints tend to be more restrictive which is why more of Universal and...

Shutting down standby for lightning lane

Pretty sure this happened with Fastpass+ too. When there are too many guests returning with a FP then they either take 99% of guests from FP/LL and therefore standby slows to a crawl or just stop taking standby altogether. In one respect closing standby is better than slowing to a crawl as at...
