Has anybody been to 1900 Park Fare

We've been there twice for dinner. I personally thing it's the best buffet food in WDW. We're trying their breakfast this year.

    The Best Server EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Figgy- you just made my day! That is so sweet. We're heading there for a surprise 9th bday dinner for DD. What is the chance... OK, probably not. But I hope someone there takes such good care of my family.

Getting close 26 days! First day plan...

Yes, ambitious but it sounds like a lot of fun! As they say, you can sleep at home, right? It's so hard for us not to head into a park on our first day. I always start the planning by saying we'll hit DTD and the pool the first day so we can ease into the trip. By the time I'm making dining...

    The Big Drive

We've driven the 14 hours from Cincinnati to Orlando for the past 2 years, and are gearing up for another trip in October. We LOVE having our car to drive from park to park. Hauling around an exhausted (and often sleeping) child at the end of the day, we were soooo happy to be able to plop her...

    Sympathy please and pixie dust.

Such sad news. I've had 2 cats over the past recent years die within weeks of returning from vacation. With a 13 year old dog sitting here, it's always a fear of mine that something will happen while I'm gone. Spend time with your cat. You'll know you gave them the same love they showed you...

    Character meal and photopass questions??

According to allears.net, these are the rides and character dining locations you can get with Photopass+. Looks like only Chef Mickey's would apply in your case. I would say a 5 year old would like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and maybe Splash Mountain (it was a big hit with DD6)...

    Your favorite Quick Services?

@disney4life2008- This is slightly off-topic, but I'll share anyway. Last year, DD and I were sitting peacefully by the lagoon eating lunch. I picked up a precious piece of fish, put it to my mouth, AND A SEAGULL SWOOPED DOWN AND GRABBED IT OUT OF MY HAND. I kid you not. I almost tackled the...

Anybody else excited about Magic Bands?

I'm really excited about the MagicBands. That said, I will be severely disappointed if we can only get 3 FP/day. I already have my vacation planned out, and will only be in the same park for the entire day once the whole time. We're big on park hopping. I've read that some have been able to...

    Candlelight Processional Dinner Packages

It is 2 credits. FYI- if you want to eat at Le Cellier, you can only choose lunch. The other restaurants are dinner too. We were there last year the week after Thanksgiving, and ate at Les Chefs de France. The dinner included appetizer, entree, and dessert. The huge bonus was having...

A sure sign you're addicted is checking wdwmagic multiple times per day! You never know when breaking Disney news might show up.

Most magical thing you've done for someone at Disney

A couple of years ago, we split so many CS meals that we had a bunch left at the end of our trip. I hung back in the food court until I saw a family of 5, and bought their breakfast. They were so elated! Our family felt great, until.... We finished our breakfast, got up, and I accidentally...

    Shoe Question

I always wear running shoes. And by running shoes, I mean the kind I go to a running shoe store and get fitted for. My brand of choice is Mizuno (~$100), but that's a foot/walking-running style-specific thing. I have knee problems too, and always bring 2 pairs of shoes to change out every...

Today show does a follow up on the "Rich Manhattan Moms"

@bethymouse- You got it! It's the principle, not the fact that a few people are cutting in line. It's a fact that there is a major entitlement attitude with some people these days, and they have no qualms taking advantage of these "systems" if they're available. I won't even go down that...

    Free Dining PIN thru December

Bummer. Doesn't do me any good with October 8 arrival even if it is released to the public. I was there almost the same week, a few days later, 2 years ago and got free dining then!

    Free Dining PIN thru December

@Dads 2 Boys, What are the black-out dates in October? We have a trip planned and I might move things a day or so if it would get me free food!

How important is dining in Disney to you?

    Cincinnati to WDW travel

We travel from Cincinnati too and stayed in a Microtel in Macon this past November. It was very clean, had a good bed, and had free hot breakfast. It was a great value!

    Most memorable moment

For our first family trip, we didn't tell DD4. It wasn't till we flew down and got on the Magical Express that she finally realized where we were going! The look on her face was absolutely priceless. I couldn't believe how little she cared where we were going or why she had been dragged out...

    Best Packing Tips!

@BoarderPhreak, - Bring a second pair of footwear, in case the first irritates you too much. I'll second this! I read the tip and took 2 pairs of shoes for DD and myself a couple of years ago. It rained everyday, and I was SOOO thankful for the dry shoes. We alternated and (at least) had...

How important is dining in Disney to you?

Dining is a really big deal for me. I probably spend more time researching and planning our dining than anything else. We're only on our 5th family trip so there are still lots of restaurants to try. Bring on BOG!!
