Crowd level end of jan/early feb

Oh, we'll just miss each other! We're going January 16th - 21st! We chose that time because it's supposedly fairly quiet as far as crowds go. This will be the first time I've gone during a non-peak season. From what I understand, the 2nd week of January until President's Day week in February...

I haven't been to Brown Derby, but I've always enjoyed Hollywood & Vine!

    Adr help

I would try to do some of the character dinings for the kids. Crystal Palace (Pooh - if they haven't outgrown him), Askerhus (princesses), Chef Mickey (Fab 5), Hollywood & Vine (Disney Junior characters at lunch only). The kids get to meet characters while the adults get to eat at some great...

    Adr help

Are we talking about adults only, or will there be children too? If children are involved, check out some of the character dining experiences ( Crystal Palace is our favorite). Some of my other favorites are: Magic Kingdom - Liberty Tavern & Crystal Palace Epcot - Biergarten, Le Cellier...

    Restaurant Choices

I agree, the Biergarten is a better deal at lunch - same food at a cheaper price! If you go during a very busy time of day, be prepared to share your table with another Disney loving family! The Crystal Palace is just as fabulous at breakfast as it is at lunch! I prefer 50's Prime Time over...

    food toting question

I have gone into the Liberty Inn dining area in the American pavilion to sit and have a snack without purchasing food from there (we brought juice & snack with us to tide us over until our reservation at Biergarten. It's out of the sun and away from the birds. As long as there are tables...

    A little Help Please

I think going in April will be a better choice than June. It won't be as crowded and the heat & humidity won't be as bad. We stayed at the Fort Wilderness cabins last year & we all loved it! The cabins fit our style & felt like home. It was very spacious, even for our group of 7 (me, my...

    Water Fans

Ask a CM when you first enter the park & they can tell you where you can find one. We bought one last summer for our kids & it cost around $10. They love playing with it. We brought along a few Dollar Store hand held fans, but they all were broken before the end of the trip. The Disney...

Anyone have tips for parking at WDW?

Don't forget to take a picture with your cell phone of the parking lot sign near your car. At the end of a long day it could be difficult to remember if you are parked in the Sleepy lot or Grumpy lot!

Driving to WDW- what to bring...

We make the long drive from NY because my husband doesn't like to fly. Some things our DD2 & DD4 love to bring along are colorforms, glow bracelets, little Disney character figurines, magnets on a cookie sheet (can also use cookie sheet as hard surface to put coloring books on), picture books...

    photopass?

We received a free photopass with our tickets last summer. We thought this was a great bonus, but it turns out photopasses are free anyway! Just ask a photographer in one of the parks & they will give you one! We ordered a cd with copyright permission that included all photopass pictures from...

    Helpful hints for character greetings

We are taking our DD2 & DD4 to WDW in the middle of January. We have booked character dinings at Crystal Palace, Askerhaus, Hollywood & Vine, and Chef Mickey's. This way I don't feel like we are wasting valuable time waiting in line to see characters because we would have to take time to eat...

I know I saw Hello Kitty merchandise in Mitsukoshi Merchandise Store in the Japan pavillion, but I don't remember seeing Smurfs anywhere.

FREE DINING at WDW for Fall 2011 and Winter 2012 is HERE!!!!

Bummer! Our trip falls right in a gap in the free dining! We are going 1/17 - 1/21, and free dining stops 1/14 & starts back up 1/22! We can't change our dates either! It's very frustrating - we were really hoping to get free dining!Hopefully we can get some other discount instead!

The Crystal Palace ( Late dinner reservation with children)

We took our DD2 & DD4 last summer. They took a late afternoon nap, & stayed up until 11pm without any problems. It wasn't unusual to see little ones out for evening EMH until 1am. You know your kids best and how well they will handle staying up late. Just make sure you get them an evening...

    Would You Rather Be..........

I am planning my 11th visit to WDW & I am so glad that I am a veteran planner. It makes it so much easier knowing more about the parks and how to make the best of my time there. I get to experience some of the excitement of 1st time planning by helping other people I know plan their first...

    Circle of Life?

I agree that it needs to be updated. A Wall-E theme would be a nice way to refresh the attraction.

    Grampa T-Shirts

What about a shirt that says "Grandpa's Favorite Characters" & then put a different Disney character for each grandkid with the grandkid's name below the character?
