    Newbie with questions!!!

    1) Disney requires a deposit, with the balance due 30 days before arrival. 2) There is such variety in on-site properties that IMO there is no great reason to play games. You can get a perfect room at any of the price points. I've stayed at the All-Star Sports, Movies, Pop Century, CBR and...

Best part of kids getting older

My issue was more servers being inflexible about making them order off the kid's menu, when the last think my kids wanted was pizza, burgers or chicken nuggets. I remember my eldest at 6 salivating over plank grilled salmon, which we had to order separate of the dining plan.

    MK On Christmas Day

Last time we did MK on Christmas day 2010. We managed expectations in that we were there for the Parade, lunch and shopping. If we got on any rides it was a bonus. We got a bus from Pop Century at 7 and while waiting to get in heard that they closed the parking lot. A fellow guest told me...

Best part of kids getting older

I hate the fact that my girls (now 13 and 11) are growing up, but thankfully they are too old for the kids menus. Both of them have always had advanced palettes, and hated being forced to eat off the kids menus when we were on the dining plan.

Am I Crazy? Was there free dining offered in Sept for Jan-March 2016?

I booked my trip 2/14-2/19 in Sept. It came out to a discount of about $500 for 3 people.

Chef Mickey - is it a must??

I always book it for an early breakfast (which is the hardest meal to screw up) right before a day at the MK.

I scheduled my first Fastpass for 8, so with online check-in, I believe we should be ok

Time from Gate to Disney via Magical Express

My family has a 5pm flight landing on a Sunday, assuming it lands on time, what is a reasonable estimate for the time to get on the Magical Express and arrive at the CBR?

Ideas to surprise kids with a WDW trip

Last time we went to Disney in 2010, when my kids were 8 and 6, we told them they were going to "Manners School" over Christmas break. We kept the jig up the entire drive from NY to FL, only when we arrived at Disney did they realize what our plan was.

    Fastpass for MK Fireworks

I'm currently setting my faspasses online and I see MK offers one for the evening fireworks. Is there a dedicated area with reserved space, how does it work?

    Don't Trust Wait Time Signs

In my MBA program the professor presented a case on WDW to illustrate queue management. Though the class was 10 years ago, he went through Disney's bag of tricks on how to analyze crowds and direct them to under-utilized and higher-capacity areas of the parks. In particular we discussed how...

    Funko Pops in the Parks

Will be taking my kids to WDW President's week, and my POP-obsessed preteens have asked me if Disney Pops are sold in the parks, and are any exclusive to the parks?

    Disney vs. Universal

Being a 15 time Disney vet, twice with my children, in 2008 and 2010, I took them to Universal last summer. Partly because they are both massive HP fangirls, partly because I could do the trip relatively cheap. For that reason, the Universal resorts were out of the question, the cheapest...

    Making the $'s work

For the first time in 20 years, I can take President's week off, so I booked the discounted dining package at the Caribbean Beach for 3. Airfare that week was a complete financial disaster out of NYC (for a while the cheapest I found was $450/pp) but Southwest ended up getting me there for...
