    Driving or flying????

One flight I had a couple next to me that seriously white-knuckled it the entire way. Literally squeezed the armrests-starting straight ahead the entire flight. Didn't even acknowledge the attendant when cabin service came around.

    Driving or flying????

Personally I like a 6am flight out, getting to the resort by 11. I like EPCOT for these first day arrivals, as a late arrival is not nearly as punitive as at MK or DHS.

    Great Wolf Lodge

That made me chuckle, like when a tourist in Little Italy asked me if I knew where the nearest Olive Garden was. :depressed:

    Nightmare trip to the airport

As a Long Islander, my rank of NYC area airports (Never been to Westchester) Islip/McArthur-I can be there in 30 minutes, 10 minutes from the lot to the gate. Inexpensive long-term lot. However SW fares tend to be more that LGA and EWR. JFK-I can be there in 30 minutes in normal Southern/Belt...

Flip belt or Running Buddy to avoid bag lines...

One quick tip I found that works wonders-I put keys, watch, fitbit, iphone (just about everything I carry on my person) into my laptop bag BEFORE I get on line. Last time I flew, a woman took up 8(!) bins at Newark, meticulously organizing everything into each bin, then gave me attitude when...

Flip belt or Running Buddy to avoid bag lines...

If you plan ahead and be ready to unload everything as soon as you get on the screening line, you won't have delays. I have to put more stuff in the bins than Batman keeps in his utility belt, and I can be through in a snap. Where it goes sideways is when people aren't prepared-they need to...

    Nightmare trip to the airport

After going through some planning with the kiddies for the trip two week's hence, I was reminded of the nightmare of getting to WDW for the kids' first trip in 2008. We had a 6 am flight out of JFK, I live on the South Shore of Long Island and the drive is no more than 20 minutes at that hour...

    EPCOT dining: recommendations wanted!

I've always looked at EPCOT as a wonderful opportunity to introduce my kids to other cuisines in a fun setting. Granted my kids are both hungry and adventurous, so they have had no issues eating in any of the WS restaurants.

    Awful guest behavior

It's not just at Disney, I find that people have atrocious manners when it comes to flash photography. How many of my kids concerts have I been to, where parents flash without a second thought. One even, not knowing how his DSLR works, let the flash try to fill the space (basically going off...

    2 weeks away...

I prefer the 6am flights out of NYC that get to Orlando by 10. Unfortunately, all the early flights were exorbitantly priced ($450/pp). I was able to get a Southwest flight to Orlando that gets in at 5, if all goes well should be in the park by 7:30.

    Any Differences between All Stars?

A couple of years ago, I stayed at sports at the same time a cheerleading competition was being held at ESPN. We were woken up every day at five by teams practicing their cheers in the courtyards...

    Driving or flying????

Did the drive from Long Island in two days, stopping over in NC. Mentally, the drive down is so much easier than the drive back. For my trip in 2 weeks, I was tempted to drive to to the absurd air fares (I was initially seeing $450/pp out of NYC). Eventually I found a Southwest fare for...

WDW/Universal vacation split. How long in Uni?

Personally next time I would stay on-site at Universal. I stated at an immense hotel at the Convention Center, and between the walk from my room to the parking garage, and the walk from the Universal lots to the gate, my kids and I were spent after a few days.

    Plans for EPCOT?

The problem is that the hemorrhaging subscriber base, as well as increased programming costs at ESPN is pulling free cash flow that Disney previously used to fund other areas of the Empire. Disney has always used the free cash flow from the parks to prop up the balance sheet, as opposed to...

    Plans for EPCOT?

This goes back to what the Board is willing to commit to make all the parks cutting-edge. When I was last at Universal, I saw a park that churns its older attractions, and commits to introducing cutting edge experiences. With the commitments a DHS and AK, I don't see how the Board will OK the...

    Great Wolf Lodge

It's not visceral, any of the indoor water parks in the Poconos all charge insane ($550/night the week after Christmas, for example). And I'm not sure what the value proposition is. It's aggravating because I used to be able to take my kids on an overnight ski trip, spending maybe $300 between...
