News Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

China built a hospital for covid in 7 days. Wasn't Diagon alley also built in a couple of years ? How can just replacing roller coaster tracks for 1 attraction take 1 year ? The general consensus seems to be budget cutting once again.

News Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

It took Disney 3 years to build Epcot from start to finish. Why would replacing a track for ONE attraction take 1/3 of the time it took to build an entire park ?

News Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

China built an airport capable of handling 40 million passengers in 3 months. Why would replacing a roller coaster track take one year ? All you are doing is take one bit of track off, and replacing it with a new one.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Show me on one advert where you saw the quote 'family friendly coaster'. You won't because, there is none that use those headlines. Is family friend, or child friendly just another term/excuse for an attraction being rubbish? You know, build a rubbish attraction (mainly due to cut backs) but...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Wow. I never thought i'd see someone defend a 20 second brand new roller coaster. You haven't been in Asia. Frozen land, including this coaster is printed all over the place. There was simply no excuse to build this attraction the way they did. You build an attraction as a legacy for 20-30...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Even juniors demand more than a 30 second coaster - especially when the hype is so high, and you queue for 2 hours.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

I don't remember seeing 'child coaster' on the adverts they are plastering all around Asia. Even if it is a child coaster there is no excuse for it being 30 seconds, after queuing for a few hours. Child coaster in disney terms is just an excuse for it being 'cheap'. But you know what - that...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

The title of the thread is 'DISNEY PLANS TO ACCELERATE INVESTMENT' Then we learn it's over 15 years. That's not acceleration, sounds like a diesel truck, manufactured in the 70's going up a hill. Most people see the headlines (like free loading locals with annual passes), others see the...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Nonsense. Comcast have come out and agreed that delaying construction on Epic Universe was a mistake. The state of Florida i believe didn't have any mandates to stop construction, yet Epic Universe was halted. My point was there was no need to stop the construction. You had members saying there...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

'in the works' ... is pretty much the same thing as 'investing over 15 years' - it isn't a guarantee of anything.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Long term investment plans are a load of nonsense. Few bad movie flops, economy struggling, tourism down (because of locals hogging the parks with cheap passes) would mean plans change. Like i say, invest now ... not some 10 years down the line. Believe it when i see it.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Will that 17 billion include normal operating costs? Or is it fresh investment? Furthermore how much does it cost to implement a new theme park - ala Epic Universe?
