Joel, i heard the message you left for Alison. Thank you brother. I'll give you a call today!

    What did you do?

Feet are sore. But the broken toe, blisters and gashes in my heels are healing fast. Other than that, I'm chomping at the bit to get back to the trails. Rebuilding my hydration system since my previous one succumbed to the mountain. Run until your body stops...then keep going.

    What did you do?

No way! I might finally attempt to run the entire state of NJ, High Point Park to Cape May. Then I think I will fly out to CO to see Willy run the 1000.

    What did you do?

I'm back. I'll post my report soon. Again, thank you all for following and posting during my epic run. The thread that Joel started is humbling... Anyway, 460 miles up and down and around a mountain, in 9 days. The last 48 hours were straight, non-stop, no breaks, no sleep, running. I went into...

Nick "StormTrooper" Bautista - McNaughton 500 Mile Race Report

I am overwhelmed. I just read this entire thread and the tears did not stop. Thank you to everyone who followed my adventure. Joel and Coryna, I will personally talk to you later. You are true friends. I am happy with my 460 miles. It took Willy (my running mentor and previous 500 winner) to...

    What did you do?

Have not run since Friday per my taper. Change of plans: warm up run tomorrow with my pacer and head to Vermont early Wednesday morning. Right now, I'm still packing and preparing for war... Looks like the first few days and nights will be rain. Bring it on. @joel_maxwell - looks like the...

    What did you do?

Some of the best ultrarunners, especially the multiday, non-stop, unstaged racers are 'older' folks. As Joel said, they could wile their with me.

    What did you do?

Going out of my mind doing anything less than 20 miles!

    What did you do?

Short and quick 14 miles this morning. Tomorrow might be a hiking day. No running this weekend or next week until Wednesday - warm up run in Vermont. The race starts at 4pm on Thursday. You can see live updates on the Peak Race facebook page.

    What did you do?

20 miles on the trails this morning. Saw a very big black snake. We scared each other pretty good; yes, jazz hands...and he went slithering through the brush and up into the branches of a bush, lightening fast. Tapering for next week and labeling / organizing all of my gear, food, and pills...

Help me with my ToT 10 Miler...

Agreed. 100%. The reason I love running is because it is difficult. And it's solitary. No one can make you do it. You have to kick your own , and in order to do that, you have to confront yourself out on those runs. Be honest with yourself. Break yourself down until you cry. If it hurts and...

    What did you do?

Why he asked? Why not?! Because...there is no simple answer lol. There is something that I have found in common with every ultrarunner: there's a fire. And we want to fan that flame into a damn inferno.

    recommendations on gps watch.?

Correction @joel_maxwell, I had the 305, but I have been using the Garmin fenix for about 8 months now. It's a fantastic gps with loads of info, but ironically, not a 'runner's watch.' Really suited to hiking and ultra-distance. I have friends who have the 410 and love it. Check it out, or try...

    What did you do?

Plan on running a full 20 hours, even if I pass 50-60 miles. I want to finish early. I have a battle strategy put together with the help of some great ultrarunners. I will go out of my mind. I expect it. My crew will keep me on track. They will be my brain when I'm on auto pilot or going Lord...

    What did you do?

I can send you my crew notes. Planning on 50-60 miles, sleep for an hour or two, and run another 50-60 miles until the last day or so, where I will attempt to run a full hundred to finish in 8 days. It was taking last year's runners roughly 3 1/2 hours to complete 10 miles...up and down the...

    What did you do?

I had to give my crew for the 500, a complete diagram of my pack/vest ; where items are located, what needs to be replenished, etc...so when I come through HQ they can swap out all my s__t without having to ask me and make the process more efficient. The whole thing was custom built for this...
