    News New Park Hours...

We used to drive every year, sometimes multiple times from Maryland starting in 89 through 2012. We live 30 minutes away now but that's not to your point. We parked the car and used Disney transportation for everything. Always worked for us.

Will ANYTHING ever happen to Discovery Island?

There is huge tracts of available land on property that can be developed that wouldn't be a logistical nightmare. I think the island should be allowed to revert back to nature. Also, as someone who enjoys staying at the Fort, having to haul all your crap over to the island would be a pain and...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I'm not jaded enough to feel they should lock out reservations for anyone who would like them, property wide, but maybe they could ask when you book at a resort, any resort with a table service restaurant if you want a reservation. When I say ask, maybe a line with a place to check the box...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Pandemic or not, this has been a thing for a long time. Last time we stayed at the Poly was 2010. That year, and the two previous we couldn't get ADRs at 'Ohana. We got in by lining up at the reservation desk in the lobby and waiting as a walkup. Not something I thought was a plus, not being...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Yeah, I'm in Florida and I haven't heard anything about a contact tracing system to be used statewide. I haven't heard of anything for my county either.

If your favorite WDW attraction were removed...

I'm one of those people who went for the nostalgia factor. So much has changed that I lost interest in the parks. Add to that the, what in my opinion is the horrible price gouging, that I could care less about any of the parks. That being said we have discovered Fort Wilderness and really enjoy...

    Fur character costumes

Going to go out on a limb with a guess, but maybe the gloves are so that the actors can be multi-ethnic. You don't need to worry about skin color if your character wears gloves.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

That's all of Polk County. Polk City still has less than 5. So I'd send you back to the dashboard. Thanks.... https://fdoh.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/8d0de33f260d444c852a615dc7837c86

WDW "What Is This?" On Google Maps/Earth

Google isn't great about synchronizing their overheads so it seems you never know when a photo was taken. This could be yesterday, or 5 years ago. If I look for my house using Google maps on the phone, it's there along with the neighbors on each side. On the computer, It's all empty.

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

It's been hot for two weeks! Just way dry. Reminded me of AZ! I wore a mask early but to be honest haven't been doing it lately. We're in Polk and never had the mandatory mask requirement. We have had less than 5 cases here in our zip code since the start of this. Looking forward to our trip to...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

Is there a mandatory mask policy in Orange county? I can't believe you all wear masks out to the mailbox?

Your view on old posts resurfacing lately

I'm thinking not much going on now, I mean how many "When will Disney open back up?" "Will you still go if you have to wear a mask?" Etc. threads? Some people like to read through the old stuff just as a matter of interest, curiosity and a little boredom. I have asked in an old thread, "So what...

What will the experiences at the resorts be like post COVID?

That's what was done in Florida, and why our state is at the forefront of the reopening curve. The vulnerable population was protected from the beginning. Is it possible there could be another surge? Sure, anything is possible.

Do you think masks will be required at WDW when the state of Florida is in phase 3?

I think wearing of masks will be up to Disney, not Florida. We haven't had mandatory use of masks since this all started. I decide on a mask based on where I'm going to be, what's the environment. I'm assuming that Disney will be more cautious than the state for a little longer.

My last photo from my last trip...care to send yours?

My daughter lives in Tacoma. If she doesn't move back east It'll be awhile before we get up to see her. I mean, when it's considered safe to fly again she can always come visit. I get it though, a long old way to pull a trailer. Believe me when I say that I understand using your own, but if you...

    Port Orleans French Quarter

If you care to look, or just want to get your nostalgia on, I've posted a whole series of French Quarter pictures in the resort photos thread. For what it's worth, there's a lot of talented photographers that have posted in there worth looking at. French Quarter starts here. There are other...

    Port Orleans French Quarter

We've stayed at French Quarter approx. 10 times over the years and it's probably our favorite. In a nutshell, it's small so access to everything is great. Food court, pool, bus stop and marina to DS all within a quick and easy walking distance.
