Kinsa smart thermometers use real-time data for this health map. Look how red Florida is right now. https://healthweather.us/ Article about it: https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article241372271.html This state needs to shut down like California right now!

I don't know. Isn't RunDisney just a division of Disney Parks? I imagine RunDisney would notify everyone about a cancellation.

There's no way they are having a race with 20,000+ runners in less than 4 weeks...

It works for me. They keep changing the layout. The list of counties is now on the right and they added some more stats. I hope they'll add the number of recovered patients once people start recovering.

I was thinking about the Spanish Flu and Walt Disney, who was born in 1901. The Spanish Flu affected young people very hard, and Walt Disney was 17 years old at the time. It turns out that he actually caught the Spanish Flu and survived. See: Ten Famous People Who Survived the 1918 Flu. Can you...

Exponential growth starts slow, but we're just at the beginning of this. It took 3 months to reach 100,000 cases worldwide and 12 days to reach 200,000. Hopefully the measures that are being taken will be enough to flatten the curve and not overwhelm the healthcare system.

Exactly! That's why some countries are finally seeing their peak of cases starting to flatten about 2 weeks after a lockdown. The longer we wait with enforcing stricter measures the longer this will drag out. I wish Florida would shut non-essential businesses and shut the beaches. Seeing the...

I don't know if this link has been posted before, but this page from John Hopkins has some information about total tests and people monitored in Florida and cases by county: https://fdoh.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/8d0de33f260d444c852a615dc7837c86 And obviously this one for...

They have been doing drive through testing in South Korea for weeks. Extremely efficient: https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/03/13/815441078/south-koreas-drive-through-testing-for-coronavirus-is-fast-and-free?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_term=nprnews&utm_campaign=npr

China, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan. The US is at the bottom of the list of numbers of people tested. South Korea is testing 20,000+ people per day, while the US has tested approximately the same number of people in the last 2 months. It's ridiculous how few people have been...

Lot of countries are doing better than us. The US are the ones who had a head start, but we failed to get testing started sooner.

I get nervous seeing the wait times in the app today. So many people still close together in the queues. Dr Fauci just said on Face the Nation that he himself would no longer go to a restaurant to avoid crowds, yet the wait at Smugglers Run is 110 minutes right now. I think that when we look...

Due to mass testing in South Korea they are able to isolate the infected people right away, while in Ohio people keep going about their business. South Korea is taking extreme measures: everyone is wearing masks in public (no mask, no entry), temperatures taken when you enter public spaces...

China and South Korea didn't just lock people in their homes; they separated anyone infected from their family, even children. Italy is playing catch-up and is not doing this (yet?). The Daily had a good podcast today comparing the approaches in China, South Korea and Italy...

I don't understand how Disney and Universal remaining open would give the public faith, while entire countries are shutting down. It does the opposite to me. I live near Orlando and don't like the idea of keeping the parks open anymore. Beside the obvious problem of spreading the virus with all...

The travel industry will recover. Large companies like Disney and United Airlines will be fine. The government can help small businesses. The (financial and human) cost of inaction could be far greater.

On January 25th China crossed 1,000 cases and that day they closed Shanghai Disneyland. The US now has just over 1,000 confirmed cases, but likely many more because of the few tests performed. I don't see how theme parks can stay open. This country needs to start getting serious about banning...
