Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Speaking of cruise ships. Anyone see that documentary on HBO Max about the cruise ships that had covid outbreaks during the early days of the pandemic?

    US Cinemas Are Reopening Slowly.

Could be possible in the US, definitely not in the UK. I think UK/Europe will be much more cautious when it comes to reopening. Id expect move theaters in the UK to sit at 25% capacity for the majority of this year. Maybe a slight increase in capacity sometime in the fall.

    US Cinemas Are Reopening Slowly.

I don't think it will be moved back to May. They delayed it to July so that movie theaters in Europe should be reopen by then.

    US Cinemas Are Reopening Slowly.

LA movie theaters have been given the green light to move to 50% capacity. Was Disney too quick to delay Black Widow again? Maybe it should have stayed in May? https://variety.com/2021/film/news/los-angeles-movie-theaters-orange-tier-1234940865/

Sony & MARVEL are friends again; Spider-Man is back in the MCU

There seems to be some confusion around whether or not he means the last day of filming or the last day of his exercise routine. I'm going to take a guess and say hes talking about filming since it lines up with what we heard before that filming would wrap in March.

Marvel Studios Developing Asian Superhero Film ‘Shang-Chi’

If Black Widow does well on Disney+ I think there's a high chance this might get the Premier Access treatment as well but if it does it will certainly be the last MCU film that goes to premier access. Since by December theaters should be nearly back up and running in full capacity. Id say 85%...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Just thinking out loud here. But lets say Disney starts using some sort of vaccine passport post-pandemic. How are they going to deal with some vaccines not being as effective as others? Like are they going to deny entry if you got the J&J jab while Disney may prefer Pfizer or Moderna because...

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Because its been public knowledge for a while through the trades that Feige was pushing for Black Widow to be a theatrical exclusive release. So its kind of surprising to see it going to Disney+ from that perspective.

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Marvel announced a while ago that they were looking at new back end deals with their talent for movies going to Disney+ I wouldn't be surprised if Disney proper was doing the same. That would be stupid though. The general movie going audience has already spent a year away from the movie...

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Here's another question for you all. Do you think Chapek overruled Feige sending Black Widow to Disney+? Or do you think Feige and Chapek came to some sort of agreement?

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Oh I agree. And that will be why their doing Premier Access for Black Widow. Feige likely convinced Disney to delay it to July while agreeing to a hybrid Disney+ release. Whether they do it for Shang-Chi remains to be seen. Well have to see where the theatrical market is later in the year.

No one said fully normal? I said 50% capacity. Better than last year by a mile.

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

But again, you cant do that for Black Widow. Based on what they announced today the release strategy for that movie is already set. Maybe they could do it for Shang-Chi. In fact id say its likely. Well have to see what Disney's new theatrical window is. It will probably fall somewhere between...

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Idk, you cant really announce a movie like Black Widow for Disney+ and then just take it back. That would just annoy people. I'm sure they'll be watching and waiting to see how well GvK does. If that does really well then Black Widow will probably be the only premier access marvel movie we get...

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

So Black Widow is going to Disney Plus but was delayed to July 9th. Makes absolutely no sense to do a hybrid release in July. Things should be pretty much back up and running by then. Theaters should be at, at least 50% capacity. Just a strange announcement imo. Why not just release it in May...

    Black Widow moves to 2021

Spider-man staying in December for now. Remember that's Sonys call to make. I'm thinking it stays. Most people should be vaccinated by then.
