News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

I've had this conversation in the Gondola thread. Disney will not punish guests who arrive in Ubers in any way shape or form. They will ban the drivers, and this will only be an issue for trips starting and ending on property. If a guest gets in a banned Uber at a resort, and arrive at the park...

News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

Exactly. And this is bad. Are there going to be 3000 Minnie Vans? No, so they will need to keep the prices high to keep demand low enough for what they have. Once they have Uber out, will the prices stay level? No, they will go up, because pay us if you want to get from resort to resort quickly...

News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

Exactly. That's why they will eliminate the competition. It's private property. They can literally ban Uber if they want. Cities have done it, A private resort can surely find a way.

News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

Disney provides somewhat adequate transportation from resorts to parks and park to park. My concern is resort to resort. Trying to use Busses to do that is extremely time-consuming. Traveling from resort to resort for food is a central part of the experience for many of us.

News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

I don't want to rent a car, that's the point. I like to eat out, I like to have drinks. I don't want to worry about driving. Uber is a near perfect service to do "niche" things on property in a reasonable time that Disney transportation doesn't provide. All I want is for that to continue as it...

News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

fine, that's you. For everyone else on property who is from an urban area and accustomed to using Uber constantly, this is worrying. If you're willing to pay 2-3 times the price for slower service because a cast member is behind the wheel, I have no problem with that. If Disney has no problem...

News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

Again, I'm going to illustrate my problem with this - that the end game here is to ban Uber and Lyft from Disney property. Something they can easily do. I think that Uber is the best way to get around when you are going from resort to resort or when you are trying to use the busses during peak...

    A Spirited Valentine ...

Obviously you can't ignore that, it's a fact that new attractions are replacing old. But you called them E-Tickets, and it's more than a stretch to classify any of those as such. I love the parks of old but things need to change and evolve. The alternative is that the resort dies.

    A Spirited Valentine ...

Are you really citing the backlot tour and Ellen as E-Tickets?

News Disney considering a service like Uber at WDW - Confirmed as Minnie Van

I'll add this here for discussion from the Gondola thread. I'm a bit concerned as someone who thinks Uber is the best way to get around property.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Well I'm not saying it would impact Uber customers like that. Many cities have and are putting all sorts of hurdles in place to keep out Uber and Lyft, sometimes making it straight up illegal to operate, either because of the clout the taxi industry has or because they perceive it as a pubIic...

I hope they don't try to ban Uber from the resort once their "Minnie Vans" are live.

Like the Beach Club and the Boardwalk? You can walk right into the park and avoid the main entrance.

My 10-15 year plan for WDW

Finally, resort wide changes. The Gondola system looks great. I'd like to see it expanded and I'm hoping the existing construction and four stops serve as a kind of test run. You could build a hub behind the boardwalk and do a short extension of the monorail to this hub. From there, add a line...

My 10-15 year plan for WDW

Studios - Ride re-do, one new E Ticket The addition of two new lands will do most of the work here, imo. Once they are open, plans should be made to re-theme the RnRC (perfect spot if they must add guardians somewhere), Re-do tGMR (I guess we're getting a Mickey dark ride, spend money on it...

My 10-15 year plan for WDW

So this is my first post here and I'd like to share some of my thoughts regarding what I would do to bring the resort into the next era. Some of these ideas will be rumors coming to fruition while others will be fresh ideas. I'll go park by park then talk about the resort in general MK - 2 E...
