    MK Monorails Down

In situations like these, the best thing to do, in terms of customer service, is to provide regular updates of what's going on. I don't know what happened in your case, or what the policies are for these types of situations, but announcements every 5 minutes or so just updating guests can...

ESPN Wide World of Sports Expansion

Both good ideas. Not sure what held up the bowling alley, but for whatever reason I'm guessing Disney determined it wasn't worth it. The amount of cheerleading, dance, school and amateur sports events they handle is quite substantial. Any improvement or growth of the WWOS is good for Disney...

New single day quick service dining plan test to begin at the Magic Kingdom

Remember when the tea didn't start as syrup? I love iced tea, but it was so much better when they actually had the fresh brewed stuff at quick serve locations. I think they switched around maybe 2009 or so -- such a shame. The premixed Gold Peak stuff is not good (though better than premixed...

New MK welcome show debuts Jan. 9th

Agree on all counts. Just wish they had put a little more effort on the creative side of this. It's always pitiful to see the "world's largest entertainment company" put on productions that are inferior to what a high school drama club could do.

New MK welcome show debuts Jan. 9th

You seem to be suggesting the only options were "good show at the front entrance" or "lame show at the castle". What about "good show at the castle?" Having a "corny show" doesn't make anyone safer. I completely agree they needed to move the show from the train station. It was too crowded...

New MK welcome show debuts Jan. 9th

Happy to see these new breakfast options as well. Breakfast options at all the parks can be lacking. Tony's used to have a sit down breakfast years ago that was quite good. It was fun to have a table outside and watch the eager crowds come in for the day, much like how you can still do at the...

New single day quick service dining plan test to begin at the Magic Kingdom

It's so aggravating when they have huge lines for food simply because they chose that minimally staffing locations is "good enough" for guests. We wouldn't like a single labor hour "wasted" would we?

Resort Monorail Down as of 8:30am today

In the days where guest service was a priority, they would have completed the walk around the world as was originally intended back in the 1990s. This would involve a bridge or drawbridge at the canal where the light parade boats are stored between the MK and the GF. Today, Disney would...

Gasparilla Island Grill Closing for Refurbishment

Yuck. Not happy to hear that. Sadly, not surprised I guess, but the food here used to be somewhat decent.

Resort Monorail Down as of 8:30am today

Oh, I don't think they are replacing the trains any time soon. I agree, the ultimate goal with the current fleet is to extend the life a bit and test out the automation concept. Based on how that goes, the new trains, whenever they come, will likely be designed and built with automation in...

Resort Monorail Down as of 8:30am today

Not necessarily so. Most big city mass transit system trains have a life expectancy, maybe 30 years or so. This assumes there is the proper maintenance, both big and small, during that time period. And we know Disney has had a tendency to defer maintenance in recent years. There comes a point...

    News Crossroads Plaza Faces Demoliton

There's nothing special about any of the places in Crossroads, but there is a certainly a convenience in having everything right there off property. For people staying both on and off property, there is a benefit to having options in terms of dining, mini golf etc. I know when we've stayed at...

Resort Specific Paper Goods Making a Return

Great to hear. Do they still have cloth hand towels too? I thought I had read those were eliminated from deluxe resort bathroom facilities. Was always a nice touch.

Possible Walk Around the World Completion?

Remember when WDW used to do all sorts of neat things for guests with zero discernible ROI? How many decades has it been now....

Can you refuse "Magic Bands" ?

I've used the Magic Bands and they are a bit cumbersome and uncomfortable, IMO. My kids thought they were fun to wear but I was dreading the moment they would lose them (fortunately, they never did - they were dropped a few times, but we were able to retrieve them). I don't find it much easier...

Gasparilla Island Grill Closing for Refurbishment

They just did a major rehab (which was badly needed, by the way) a couple years ago. I'm guessing the guest facing areas just got a cleaning, painting etc. Very often refurbs take place to replace back of house infrastructure. I have no knowledge that is what happened here, but it...

Restaurantosaurus at Disney's Animal Kingdom offering breakfast during the Christmas period

This actually sounds like a great option; wish it was around all year. The toppings bar options sound great too, so by Disney standards the pricing sounds decent for what you get.

Donald's Happy Holiday-O-Saurus Dance Party starts this weekend at Disney's Animal Kingdom

A Holiday-O-Saurus foam head dance party is apparently the ultimate in creative output of WDW these days. It's just laziness and lack of effort all around, I guess.

    Holidays at Disney Springs 2016

    I have a five year old. I don't think she'd be impressed.

    Holidays at Disney Springs 2016

Update: I've heard that they do recognize this is a steaming pile and are working to improve it in the coming days. I don't know exactly what that will entail, but at least it is recognized the current setup is pathetic.
