It's a recording of a live event. Frankly, they should just prerecord the whole thing like an Apple event. The production value is higher, you are able to get an up close view of detailed images, and it's not as awkward.

I assume that the Disney Parks Blog will have videos and at least press releases for all of the announcements.

My fear is that they are trying to lower expectations. If there were major announcements they would want to livestream it. I get wanting to protect ticket sales, but attending the event, just like a game/concert/etc, has more value than just viewing it.

Or just have it take place in a rainforest....

If you search on YT for the 2023 D23 livestream you can find channels that hosted it. Perhaps they will for 2024 as well.

I did that for GotG boarding group in 2022. Used my wife's band after I rode it.

So, I just went to make a calendar reminder and as soon as I typed D23 my phone found an old subject from the past. d23expo.com/live Today, that redirects to the normal website, but perhaps it will go live this weekend.

Yes. I remember having it on the TV all day (probably on YT). Most of the panels were terrible. Did they turn it off for Parks & Experiences? I thought I watched Josh on stage. Could have been a dream.

100% it is so hard to get inside. Luckily the patio exists.

A tiki bar is kitschy. I love Trader Sam's, etc. I am a rum-geek. Would I want that style in my house? Not really. So, kitschy is good or bad depending on the situation.

Again, I love the theming at WDW resorts. But, maybe some parents, after a day of chaos in an overstimulating park, want a tranquil oasis to return to at the end of the day? Or, some of the "we go three times a year to eat and tour the hotels" crowd want a more upscale option to relax and not...
