I'd say that like the last version of the show it's heavy on fantastic effects and visuals, but very bland in terms of the actual artistry and execution.

I love the new animatronic but why did they replace the iconic roar? The new roars sound kind of lame.

I agree that the parks shouldn't just be a showcase for the movies. Unfortunately that's not the case these days as Disney will pretty much not build an attraction unless there's some marketable characters plastered all over it. The last truly original attraction was (correct me if I'm wrong)...
