    Terminator 2 3D to close October 8th

A Star Trek attraction could be cool, but depends which direction they go. Sadly, with much of the original cast gone, we'd most likely get one of the newer incarnations. I'm kind of glad to see T2 close. We did it every trip, but I don't even know why. Longest, most boring pre-show I've ever...

    Trip Report: 9/21 - 9/25 - Is that it?

I love both, but here's a question: Why does Universal get beat up for having so many screen rides when Disney has so many omni movers? Granted, I like some of them, but what differentiates Ariel, Nemo, Haunted Mansion and Imagination's ride system? It's the theme of the ride itself. Same as the...

    Trip Report: 9/21 - 9/25 - Is that it?

I must be insane. I absolutely love both Universal parks. I think the the theming is absolutely top notch. I love the food. I love the hotels. I love CityWalk. Even the screen based rides, which are the same ride system in nature, are all unique and fun in their theme.

    Kids Birthday at Universal

We're going in February and we'll be there for my twins 11th birthday. Is there anything special I can do (or request) Universal to do, like a cake in the room or anything at the parks?

Rumor: Element to become Voodoo Donut

I think it's a space issue. That area is pretty stuffed as is. I'd be all for another place to grab a treat at Universal.

    Favorite Universal Hotel

You can't go wrong with either. I actually find Hard Rock to be better for families. The pool area is great for kids. Also has a water slide which the RP doesn't. Rooms are also about 40 square feet bigger. Emack and Bolios is great as well. I prefer RP for breakfast. It's really personal...

    Favorite Universal Hotel

Haven't seen one of these here in a while. My vote was for Hard Rock. In all fairness, I've only stayed at Hard Rock and Royal Pacific, but have spent time over at Portofino. I love the vibe at Royal Pacific. Very serene and relaxing. But Hard Rock takes the cake for me due to proximity...

    HRH rock royalty lounge question

That would not be frowned upon in the least bit.

    New view category at Poly

$50 says next for Disney is only upgraded rooms will have a bathroom. All standard rooms will have to use the public facilities by the pool.

    Poly vs Wilderness Lodge

Having stayed at both numerous times, here's how I would break it down: Transportation - Poly wins simply for the monorail to Epcot. Boat ride is great from WL to MK, but can be slow. Food - Although Ohana is my favorite restaurant, I'm giving this one to Wilderness Lodge based on Whispering...

New Harry Potter Coaster Confirmed for 2019 (Dragon's Challenge Closing Sept 4th)

Not sure if this has been brought up, but should Universal really be retiring one (or 2) of it's biggie roller coasters, when Islands is known for thrill rides? If anything, I think they should be building more coasters. And not in the Mine Train vein.

    Mardi Gras Questions

Booked a surprise trip for my boys birthday in February. Nine nights at Hard Rock! This is also same time as Mardi Gras. Just curious how the different stands and whatnot affect the look of the park. I'm old school and like the theme of the park as it is. Is the parade every night? Are the food...

    Best Universal park?

I've only been to Orlando, but Islands is the best. I would rank it only behind Magic Kingdom. Of course, losing Dragons is going to be a HUGE hit to the park.

    Must do restaurant

Sounds about right. Actually preferred NASCAR.

    Must do restaurant

Mythos is a must do for us, for the setting as much as the food. Same for Hard Rock. Bubba Gump is a must for me (not so much my family). Red Oven has become a staple for us. Great pizza and very inexpensive. Believe it or not, 2 counter service are on our must do's - Fast Food Boulevard in...

    Volcano Bay

I can easily spend an entire week at the 2 Universal parks. We do it every year. We hit a park in the morning, have lunch, head back to Hard Rock for a swim and a nap, head to City Walk for dinner, then go to the other park for the night. We love it.

    Poly vs Contemporary.

Poly is my vote. I want to stay at the Contemporary just to say we did it, but the theme and atmosphere does nothing for me. I prefer more of a resort feel. The Poly has that.

Using "UNIVERSAL GIFT CARDS" @ restaurants, which places can you use them ?

Ressies aren't necessary at The Palm. We always walk right in at 5:00 or 6:00 and plenty of tables available. Surprising, as the food is excellent.

New Harry Potter Coaster Confirmed for 2019 (Dragon's Challenge Closing Sept 4th)

As someone else said, Spidey tells a great story. Transformers is all over the place. It's so silly. Megatron is after the Allspark for 5 minutes, then gets it punched into him, and is destroyed. Why not do that right away?

New Harry Potter Coaster Confirmed for 2019 (Dragon's Challenge Closing Sept 4th)

Kind of sad. I love Dragon Challenge. So do my kids. Just have to add a day in Sea World from now on.
