Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

For those with children and mobility issues, Universal provides fantastic and quick bus service that gets you to the bus hub in ~8 minutes. The walk from the Grand Flo to MK is shorter yet a more miserable walk in the sun with no shade.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

Calling the garden walks at UOR a hike is hilarious. You do more walking in 30 minutes at the park than the garden walk. It's also heavily landscaped and mostly shaded. There are times you forget you are only a mere few feet away from the street. In terms of walkability at the Epic/south...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Comcast earnings report reflects a pretty decent attendance dip for their parks division - Q2'24 down 11% ($234M) compared to Q2 of last year. Mainly attributed to lower attendance at domestic parks. I'd imagine Disney is in a similar spot.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

All UOR hotels will provide bus shuttle service to/from Epic Universe with their own routes. Most of UOR's hotels already have built-in bus pickup areas (like at Disney) and Epic is getting a pickup area for resort hotels like at any WDW park. Express most likely won't be offered for anybody...

    D23 2024 Disneyland Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

One thing that won't be announced, but I think could be received well, are improvements to the guest experience at WDW. Things like additional shade structures throughout the parks, cool-off areas and other changes that reduce the stress/complexity of a WDW trip

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

True, but taking 5-8 minute to load and dispatch each train make you cringe at how slow they run the rides. If it were a Disney/Universal ops crew, every ride would be a walk-on. (and management is to blame, not front line employees)

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Just want to make it known, Disney (and Universal now) don't really pay attention to what SeaWorld is doing. SeaWorld is always running promotions (check the website each week, there's a different holiday or theme they choose, but it's the same promo). SWO/BGT have always let their parks get...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I'd argue this is a response to WDW's $235 for 4 days ticket deal for FL residents. While unlimited admission isn't comparable to 4 days... most who purchase the UOR deal probably won't attend more than 4 days anyway.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Attendance down at UOR. Unlimited admission being offered for FL Residents for the remainder of the year at only $199.

    What do new lands need?

On your first note, waits are hard to use to judge popularity of an attraction, but an actual wait from the "exterior" queue of Pirates to getting on a boat is rarely ever a 30ish minute wait unless there's a backup with lightning lane. There's a reason why a lot of these omni movers/boat rides...

Wait-Time Inflation Equation = Actual Wait Time + Adjustment For Reduced Standby Capacity to accommodate Lightning Lane + Adjustment For Taking Attraction Downtime Into Account + Adjustment for DAS Pros Guests "feel" happier because they waited less than expected Helps move guests to...

    What do new lands need?

High-capacity dark rides like PoTC/Haunted Mansion (when working efficiently) rarely exceed actual waits beyond 30-45 minutes. When you build a massive park filled with them (like Epcot opening day) you don't have multiple hour+ waits. Frozen would be a 30 minute at most each day if it had a...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Yup - down year overall for every major competitor. Both Uni/Dis have significant investments lined up for Florida/Global and they don't want to scare investors. My best guess is that they want to release TEA numbers somewhere closer to investor calls for Q2 (Q3 for WDW) presentations to...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Len brought an interesting point on the Disney Dish this week... why hasn't TEA released info yet on 2023 attendance? While not 100% accurate, it does paint a picture on trends and could signal distress to investors. Last year it was released in June, and that was already pretty late.

    HHN 2024

While true, you can still enjoy a few of the houses at the back with low waits even if your coming from outside. If you limit access to S&S, you'll just move those folks to the gate, causing even further back ups at the front. From an ops perspective, Universal prefers that a good chunk of...

    HHN 2024

Diagon is best experienced during HHN (at night it's incredible) since its less crowded (though it gets a bit busy some nights). Most shops and all dining venues were open last year, so I'd imagine it'll be the same this year. Make sure to get on Gringotts before 11PM though, it closes early...

Regarding price and its impact on WDW attendance... has the Contempo Cafe always been priced higher than in-park QSR locations? Always though they were priced similar since they tend to offer similar options. At the moment, Chicken Tenders from Contempo cafe are $11.19 while in-park tenders...

News Test Track to be reimagined

    HHN 2024

Should be easily able to (will appear tough, but it's doable). Stay & Scream in New York, and then make your way through the Soundstage houses as they open up. Eventually, they'll open up the gates when the rest of the park opens so you can make your way over to the back of the park to hit the...

    HHN 2024

I visit nearly 3-4 days each week during the event, well aware how busy the event is. My perspective comes from if your able to attend multiple nights, you can easily either rope drop or close the event and do enough run through the houses that make express unnecessary. While it's become...
