Voyage of the Little Mermaid is done, won't reopen with the parks.

How about a platter of fresh beignets? TBH, I'd be really happy with the gumbo. With etouffee. With jambalaya. With red beans and rice. bananas foster. Mufaletta. Po boys. Wait. Princess and the Frog dinner theater (due to popularity there would also be seating at lunch time). Think 11, 1, 4, 6...

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is done, won't reopen with the parks.

This was a favorite of my daughter's and thus a must do for the whole family for the last decade. Lots of sadness when I shared this news. Luckily, they opened that terrible Cars thing just in time to fill the void.

Former VP Details Original Star Wars Land Plans

I think their cutting edge market research indicates that a Kool and the Gang reskin will bring the attraction into the 21st century and beyond.

Uncle Owen and Luke would spend hours on a bench while Aunt Beru sipped her iced Joffreys (she equated this with beverage nirvana) and perused the Disney section of Target.

Correct. Just off screen was the Mos Eisley spaceport Fashion Mall and Popcorn Emporium.

Iger and Chapek Livid With Lucasfilm

Is it really necessary to comment on someone's bladder control issues in the headline?

Augh.. I feel like the Harbinger of Doom recently with my posts.. Tom Sawyer's Island will not be opening up again...

Yep. I was gonna say Disney Temporary = Real Life Permanent in many cases. TSI closing would make me very sad. It has that old school Disney feel, that je ne sais quoi. Let’s start an “open Aunt Polly’s” sit in and push in the opposite direction.

What's Still On and What's Now Off

I walk around with a rotary dial phone. Kind of a home made mobile phone if you will. However, I haven't gotten one phone call since I unplugged it in 2003 and I'm starting to wonder if the darn thing works.

    Is Disney like cocaine?

Cocaine peps me up. The snuff I snorted in the bathrooms behind Imagination was more hallucinogenic.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Dang it. After all the meetings, I was hoping that my proposal of "Billy Ray Virus" would catch on. I dunno. I signed a liability waiver before doing all this nonsense at the behest of the NSA in Belgium. Dirty money, dirty bombs, breaking and entering...I suppose there was some threat, but...

    Define 50% capacity

Does anyone remember the B ride night and the “dress up as a bride for b rides” promotion? Didn’t go so well. I rode the living daylights out of Dumbo though. 26 rides on that flying elephant was a dream come true.

Will the Pandemic Curb the Price Increases?

Once WDW is acquired, YUM! Brands Inc. will pursue a fairly reasonable pricing strategy.

Iger and Chapek Livid With Lucasfilm

What happened? Did Chapek and Iger finally get around to watching the Star Wars movies that were made after they bought Lucasfilm? I guess the lockdown is giving everyone time to catch up.

I'm a yank and I'm with you on this one. Day/month/year is more logical. Aluminium is just wrong however. Completely wrong. I don't know how we haven't completely taken over the proper spelling and pronunciation.

Don't recall the history of MERS, but SARS-Cov-1 had a R0 < 1 and that caused it to go away.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Got distracted for a bit. I have collaborated with one of the world's experts in vaccines and a week ago we had a conversation via new fangled electronic mail about the viability of a vaccine. Here is his reply to my initial query which I only made because I no longer worry about appearing...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Knowing the pool you are sampling from is important. If say, 10 million people had been hunkering down the whole time and don't have antibodies, that would be good to know. It not only impacts mortality calculations (impacts the number you are dividing by), but also gives information about the...

Cuomo comments on that in the article. He points out that these were people that were out and about and thus more likely to be infected than someone who hasn't gone out at all.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Makes sense to me. If I do rough math (rounding just a tad so I can do it in my head), population of New York is about 2e7. Deaths as of today is 2e4. So, 2e7 x 0.15 = 3e6. 2e4/3e6 = 0.667%. I should note, I think we're missing some in the numerator too. If we were to go back and test bodies...
