Yeah. TBA makes me realize I've been giving WDI a pass for years. They've done some exceptional projects recently, like (IMO) Rise of the Resistance. And they've done very poor attractions, like Incredicoaster and Web Slingers. But those poor attractions just haven't really mattered to me...

Yep. Splash felt like an entire world of charming and silly anthropomorphic characters -- and as riders floating through the "mountain," we were just scratching the surface of this world. By the final scenes of TBA, it's kind of like... enough already with Mama Odie and Louis and Tiana...

Undeniably true, but it still doesn't satisfactorily explain to me how this thing ended up so amateurish and sloppy. Most of WDI's recent attractions feel designed by committee, and none are filled with as many rookie mistakes as Tiana. There's no reason Tiana shouldn't fit as an overlay to...

It's a nitpick for sure. There's a few different lines, and some are better than others. I just think it's unnecessary. And kind of weird, since Tiana effectively interrupts herself singing Almost There.

Star Tours is the only attraction that consistently makes me feel a little queasy. Forbidden Journey, Simpsons Ride — no problem. C-3PO’s piloting, however…

I agree with you. I have no problem with the first couple screen/projection walls in the HDYD section. Especially the one just prior to the second Louis AA, which fills in the formerly-open space. Looks good to me.

Not sure I agree with what you're implying, actually. Yes, that was the MacGuffin that got this ball rolling. But TBA's failures come down to basic storytelling stuff -- telling instead of showing, lacking a narrative arc, etc. -- as well as themed entertainment mistakes that should be beneath...

Do we really need Tiana/Louis exposition voice-over prior to Slippin' Falls? We've already heard from both characters at that point, and they've set up the premise very clearly. This is what I mean by "quality control." Why was even $1 spent on this voice-over.

When the target audience is preschoolers, it feels kind of silly to expend energy on a thoughtful critique. WDI certainly didn’t expend energy devising the story/dialogue.
