PHOTOS - Disney reveals new lobby design and Trader Sam's lounge for the Polynesian

Hah, yes as pointed out above the theming is not a concern on the inside so much as the embarrassment of service and running of the shows (though that runs outside as well). I'm curious what everybody's expectations are/were with the patio? The furniture is similar to what they have at Trader...

PHOTOS - Disney reveals new lobby design and Trader Sam's lounge for the Polynesian

I have zero problems w/the outside furniture. It needs to be functional and hold up in various weather conditions. Really, the patio isn't the problem - it's what's going on inside.

PHOTOS - Disney reveals new lobby design and Trader Sam's lounge for the Polynesian

Thankfully! Currently Grog Grotto's Uh Oa show lasts probably 20 seconds, I swear. It's way too long and needs to be trimmed and edited. Fortunately that's something that can happen (whether or not it will, who knows). Precisely. That's also why some people would fly 3,000 miles for the soft...

PHOTOS - Disney reveals new lobby design and Trader Sam's lounge for the Polynesian

Exactly. I think a lot of college program kids were there. And to relate to what you said, from what I was told nobody is getting tipped worth a crap. With only 7? barseats on the inside, and a lot of servers elsewhere tipping out, cash flow is little. One bartender mentioned that aside from my...

PHOTOS - Disney reveals new lobby design and Trader Sam's lounge for the Polynesian

Trader Sam's in California is a hotel bar and is definitely an all-night kind of place. In my opinion, Grog Grotto is going about it all wrong - opening at 4 and closing at 12 is extremely limiting. I realize it's only been a week and that all other resort bars are 4-12, but this hurts business...

PHOTOS - Disney reveals new lobby design and Trader Sam's lounge for the Polynesian

I'm a bigger fan of sitting at the bar. In fact, if I can't sit at the bar I tend to just pass. I've developed some fair friendships with some staffers and I enjoy learning from them, picking their brain, etc. Not everybody is like me however and they just want a drink and a show. Grog Grotto...

PHOTOS - Disney reveals new lobby design and Trader Sam's lounge for the Polynesian

Honestly the only pics of any interest that were leaked was what I stated earlier: Nautilis on the menu and food on the menu. Nothing else is of any interest.

There are a few out there - one of the Nautilus and one of the food menu leaked.

    Riverside or French quarter?

I'm told Riverside is the better half overall as it's more central to everything else and the rooms are slightly nicer. I'm staying at French Quarter next week however because Riverside was full. A plus for French Quarter i think is that the busses/shuttles tend to hit that location first before...

    Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier

If I'm correct, the pricing for both hotels are pretty darn close. So close in fact that you may as well choose the Disneyland Hotel - I'm a broken record in saying that the hotel's renovation is the best thing ever. Explore every nook and cranny and admire the work and process.

Disney-themed tours in Los Feliz, Calif.

I've not heard of any unofficial tours or the like. Nearby at Griffith Park there is Walt's Barn which I think is open once a month. It's pretty small but it has a nice little barnhouse that has plenty to look at and read about, plus a mini train ride that last 10-15 minutes or so.

    Disneyland Hotel review- it's awesome!!!

I'm glad you thoroughly enjoyed your stay. When did you stay there? I ask because the photo of the hat sign is before the recent paint job. Regardless, I never stop raving about how Disney flat-out nailed their renovation of the hotel. We were blocked out this past weekend from the parks and...

    Trader Sams Grotto Drinks announced

There's a fairly large team that runs the blog - Rachel Brent wrote this particular article. I'm sure there are reasons for not listing what exactly is in it just yet. Maybe they don't have the information yet, maybe they don't want to list it so you can visit yourself, maybe the drinks aren't...

    Trader Sams Grotto Drinks announced

Not really absurd to me! I can afford the flight and time out - plus when you're a huge (read: HUGE) Sam's regular it's only natural that a nut like me would go. A few days at EPCOT with openings and evenings at Grog Grotto sounds fantastic. I have plenty of friends here (LA) who will want mugs...

    Tips for Grand Californian Hotel

I second this, it's a great and sort of hidden thing - ask the front desk. Likewise you might be able to hop over to the Disneyland Hotel and get on their tour as well. Its very nice. Other than that, the pool is very nice to lounge around in. You feel secluded when its not busy and its great...
