When its all booked, but room has issues

We would be livid as well.

When its all booked, but room has issues

I think that some would rather move to a regular resort room over completely changing resorts, and that would be their choice. For us, if we are at BWV and they have to move us to SSR or OKW to stay in a similar room (only assuming a 1 bedroom or higher - not a studio), we would definitely move...

When its all booked, but room has issues

That would help with the sting, but I'd still want some sort of points refund as well. They can and have done that in the past for people that they have had to move.

When its all booked, but room has issues

It's different with a hurricane coming. We would be much more understanding about where they move us to in that situation. People are reporting that regular hotel bookings are down, so there was probably plenty of rooms to move everyone to - even if they had to split larger parties into multiple...

When its all booked, but room has issues

If they tried that with us, it needs to be concierge level or we will not be happy.

When its all booked, but room has issues

If you have paid for a 1 bedroom with points, I don't think they can place you into a regular hotel room (or 2). If they were to do that, they would also have to refund the points I would think, as you are missing the full kitchen and washer/dryer that your points paid for. Unless it is an...

When its all booked, but room has issues

That's a good point. We always travel at slower times as we don't have young kids to worry about being in school anymore. Ours are in their 30's so if we do travel with them, they can just take vacation time.

When its all booked, but room has issues

We had a 1 bedroom at SSR several years ago that just reeked of cigarette smoke. We couldn't even stand to be in the room - but they had a different 1 bedroom in a different building - still in Grandstand - that they were happy to move us to.

News Disney raises price of Walt Disney World Annual Passes

We treat it like a vacation destination - not a park destination. Having been DVC for over 17 years, we've done the parks. Now we are just looking for a relaxing vacation. We do have APs and visit the parks, but it isn't our main focus and hasn't been for many years. It's just DW and I so we...

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

I believe that they are thinking it would sell like hotcakes even with no incentives - and they are probably right about that.

    Space 220

If you are only interested in the lounge, if you line up about 30 minutes prior to opening, and there are less than 8 people already there, you can get a seat at the bar. The bar holds 10 and it is only first come first served for that seating. We've done that multiple times and it has always...

    Website Issues or Sold Out?

The first 2 weeks of December are the lowest point cost for DVC rooms, and they all pretty much book up at either the 11 month or 7 month windows. I just checked the site, and there is absolutely nothing available for those dates - not even a Poly Bungalow!

News Disney Vacation Club announces plans for more than 350 new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

We stayed in the original cabins with the 4 of us for a long weekend, and while we will stay here at some time since the points are low, it would only be for the 2 of us for a short trip. We would never think of bringing our kids and their DWs (who are in their 30's) for a longer stay. We...

News Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closing for refurbishment in January 2024

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree as the last time my DW and I rode it 2 years go, it was not as smooth as it used to be. It was a must do multiple times every trip, and we couldn't ride it after that. We'll give it a try now, though. Thanks.

News Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closing for refurbishment in January 2024

So anyone that has now ridden it after the refurb. Is it back to being a smooth ride like it was years ago or is it still bumpy?

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Same here, but people don't want to hear the truth about how it used to be in the summer.

    Cabins at FW sales thread

I forgot that they allow dogs there. Might consider bringing ours for a short stay, since it would be mostly a resort stay and not a lot of park visits.

    Cabins at FW sales thread

DW and I have stayed in the older cabins, and would probably book a short stay here when we won't need to do laundry. We would never consider it for more than just the 2 of us either, but the points are low, so a bonus there.

Bar seating returns to Tune-In Lounge

We always ordered appetizers with our adult beverages when we could sit. When the chairs didn't come back, we started going over to the outdoor seating at the Brown Derby Lounge. Looks like we will go back to the Tune-In Lounge as we know pretty much all of the barkeeps there and we really...
