Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

That’s not exactly correct. They ripped Down in New Orleans, Almost There, and Going Down the Bayou from the film….mostly. It seems like they added a few extra drumbeats and swapped an instrument or two to avoid paying UMG licensing fees. Now as for the “new”, the did record some new...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

To be perfectly honest, the music was the biggest disappointment about this retheme. I think it’s fair to consider Splash Mountain the theme park equivalent of a musical. The songs were bombastic and told a complete story. The lyrics were snappy and the music was something you’d enjoy listening...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

The major difference will be that it’s a fast Dora log flume ride rather than a slow Dora boat ride. That might be enough to have a good time. Idk. Not crazy about how wet your feet get on DL Splash, and I don’t expect that to change. I did it for the stellar soundtrack and the animatronics...

It’s not nothing, but at most is raising it from a 4/10 to a 6/10. The biggest issues are core to the lack of creative direction. Most of the figures suck. The soundtrack feels like an afterthought. The dialogue is horrendous. The story is meant for a preschool episode.

Temper your expectations. The "pacing" and staging changes are because Disneyland has a different layout, and they weren't rebuilding the show building. The contents (music, animatronics, and "story") will be exactly the same.

It will have the exact same contents, so no.

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

The thing is, we know Disney. They’re probably going to allot as many Multipasses as they do currently AND have an additional amount of Premier Pass. At the parks where Multipass is selling out (Magic Kingdom and DHS), you better believe they will continue selling out. So yes, there will almost...

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

I didn’t say I’m never going back. But the increase in price and decrease in value means that I’m no longer visiting yearly (like I’ve done for my entire life). Maybe once every 2 years. Maybe once every 5 years or more. Idk. There was a time pre-Covid where you couldn’t keep me away from the...

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

They need to return to the level of quality output that they used to be known for. Unlike many people on this forum, I’m on the “younger side” of visiting these parks. I’m Gen Z, and my fondest trips to the resort were in the late 2000s and 2010s. The fact that they’ve changed (and degraded)...

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

This sums it up. Just because I hate the way the parks are being managed currently, doesn’t mean my lifelong interest and passion for the Disney parks should just…disappear.

By what metric? You used to get far more “bang for your buck” than you do now.

I won’t. I’m not even planning to visit these parks anymore.

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Interesting that the highest price the unlimited Express Pass cab go ($320) is a whopping $130 cheaper than the highest price this limited LL Premier pass can go ($450).

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Aside from the A1000s, the only thing from this retheme that has been up to par with “Disney Quality” are the store signs.

They made changes on the technical side so that the ride will (hopefully) run smoother than the Florida version. As far as the story, music, and animatronics go, don’t expect anything different. Staging inherently has to be different because the show buildings have different layouts.

Apparently the interior was mostly finished by the time the Florida version opened.
