Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

Yeah, that's why I added the "if maintained and functioning properly" disclaimer.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I personally think screen heavy attractions suffer from this in general. It's happened to Flight of Passage for me too -- I still like FoP, but I honestly find NRJ more enjoyable now. I'm sure it varies from person to person, but there's something about being in a physical environment that...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

Forbidden Journey wasn't even the best ride at Islands of Adventure when it opened -- both Spiderman (which I'm also nowhere near as high on as other people) and Jurassic Park River Adventure were (and are) better, at least when maintained and functioning properly. FJ has more impressive...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Rise is also blessed with a setting that's supposed to have kind of a huge warehouse feel. Most of the Imperial/First Order stuff in the films is giant open hallways etc.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

I'm aware, but I never felt that way. The first time we rode it my thought was "that's it?" after reading all the praise. It's like half of a good attraction. Way too much of it is the broom flight simulation, which is just kind of boring. I had more fun going through the queue than riding it...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

Gringotts and Forbidden Journey have amazing queues too; the rides don't live up to them. It would be nice if Ministry of Magic does! I'm a little apprehensive that it's going to rely heavily on watching movies play in front of you, though, which will make it very disappointing.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I think it's incredibly unlikely they construct a large building there for several reasons -- for one, almost all of a building would be visible from inside the park/on stage thanks to TRON's placement, so either they'd have to theme the entire building or there'd be significantly more backstage...

New Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Walt Disney World

Why are they punishing DVC members with Freestyle machines instead of giving them actual good Coke?

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I don't know if it's irrelevant -- mainly because it limits what they can do with the scenery. A ride like this would be better served with animals scattered throughout, even if was simpler stuff like some bird figures perched on trees etc., but that's not possible with the Cars IP. Unless they...

Are you saying Wegman's isn't as good as Publix, or what? Like I said, I've never been to one, but I do have a good friend from NY who now lives in the south and thinks Publix is mediocre compared to Wegman's. I would say the Fresh Market has higher quality meat, bread, baked goods, etc. than...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

That's fair. I wasn't thinking globally, since what they're doing in international parks is kind of irrelevant for me -- I can't see myself ever going to any of them, because when I visit those places going to a Disney theme park is very, very far down the list of what I want to do. To me, most...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

Wow, really? While obviously it's all subjective, I think that's one of the weakest periods of WDI, at least in terms of WDW. Not much happened and the things that did open in that time frame are generally among the weaker attractions in their respective parks, with the exception of Pandora...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

They do have amazing fried chicken, although the quality has declined in the last 5 or so years at the ones I go to. Or rather it's not that the quality itself has declined -- it's still delicious when it's fresh -- but they've seemed more willing to use older reheated chicken than they were in...

Pub subs are good, but I'm baffled at the love for the Publix bakery. It's better than the average grocery store bakery, but... you can get much better cake and cookies elsewhere.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

They need more short wait/walk-ons, not fewer. Taking away stuff like MV3D makes the park experience worse for everyone, even people who don't enjoy it/weren't going to see it. A park that's solely D and E ticket attractions with nothing else would be miserable.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I think the big difference with TRON is that TRON was an actual addition to the park. MK didn't need it, but it also didn't really hurt anything. DHS, on the other hand, is already lacking both in space for the current attendance level and in attractions without a height requirement, so taking...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

That's exactly my point. The park doesn't have enough space or things to do for the people it gets now; adding another draw is going to make it that much worse. Especially since Monsters will have a height requirement. It will take all of the park's existing issues and exacerbate them. It's...

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

The issue is mostly because it's relatively generic as opposed to something highly themed. The Contemporary gets away with it both because it's a unique structure and because it's been there since opening day, but otherwise Disney had generally focused on building themed hotels that were very...

I realize people are joking, but Publix is also spread across the entire southeast, so a significant number of Florida visitors already have one near where they live.
