News Test Track to be reimagined

Bird isn't in Disney's archives, he's in BRC Imagination Arts' "archives" (the company who produced the show and manufactured the figure)

News Former Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde to be honored as a Disney Legend at D23 2024

Haha are we talking about DL Railway? Because my "Opening 2019!" merch for WDW Railway would certainly disagree on the "on time" part lol

Does Computer Central still function and exist at Epcot?

I know a handful of people who've been in and out of central recently. It's intact as a space, but as Martin said there's not much actually done in there anymore. Lots of fun empty cabinets though, some favorites are ones still marked for Horizons, Equatorial Africa, and a handful marked as...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I know this idea has repeated here over and over again ever since the first film released, but it really does feel like an incredible missed opportunity to not just put an Inside Out show in the Cranium Command theatre. Much of the infrastructure to support it was already there. I feel like the...

News Test Track to be reimagined

2001-2021 was a terrible time for EPCOT. In terms of additions you have Ratatouille, which in itself was the first actual park expansion in over 30 years. Mission: Space and Soarin' replaced existing attractions, and Frozen and Nemo were rethemes of existing attractions. Test Track received a...

News Test Track to be reimagined

We can do the fanboy complaining of how the ride sucks and it used to be great and whatever, but at the end of the day it’s still open. 14 years with no sponsor, ride is open every day. Image Works still open. Magic Eye still open. It’s not empty and rotting like Wonders of Life, it’s an...

News Test Track to be reimagined

Universe of Energy is a pretty poor example, it operated for 13 years with no sponsor. Journey into Imagination is going on 14 now with no sponsor. The idea of killing a Future World pavilion once its sponsor drops out is kind of antiquated now, rather than shuttering it immediately and letting...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

It's a big empty building now for the most part, no active work in there in years. Also the dome roof still leaks lol

News Test Track to be reimagined

It was for that later on, but initially it was just to house the Test Track preview center. It was always intended to be removed before the ride opened, last minute choice to keep it.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

This is definitely the year though. Lots of people are just getting that gut feeling, you know? If not this year then next year for sure. Gotta be soon at least.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

A great way to gauge how long someone has been in this fandom is to tell them you heard this is gonna be the year they announce JII 4, and observe how they react.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

It wouldn't have those wait times if it had a reputation for being painfully mediocre ;)

News Test Track to be reimagined

I have no knowledge of anything and I personally am inclined to believe there will be no enclosure of any kind, but I'd sooner assume we see a PeopleMover style enclosure with a canopy over the track than a complete enclosure.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

This is precisely it. There was plenty about EPCOT which inherently appealed to audiences of all ages. Take The Living Seas for example, the whole show about descending into an underwater research base, the grand reveal of traveling under and into the aquarium, being able to walk around Seabase...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

As fun as it is to consider it a nod, I see it as more of a necessity than anything. They made a highly visible exterior scene that makes people think "Wow, that ride looks fun, where do I go to get on that?". When Splash was testing they had a need to let people know you couldn't get on it yet...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I know we all like to say Disney is for the young and the young at heart, but you do know the parks are primarily for that first part, right? Outside of the fanatics there aren't many regular people planning WDW trips that don't revolve around their kids. I would hope they are thinking about how...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I don't even think this is the primary reason people detest Guardians. The major problem is that it's just not thematically appropriate for EPCOT. It's a fun attraction, but being fun is not enough to justify its placement. If Universe of Energy were gutted for something that stayed true to...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Not gonna lie when they spell it out like this it just gets even funnier. Seven years and what they're most proud of are two new rides (with only one being a net gain), new planters and a redressed fountain in the front, some lights, two restaurants (with only one being a net gain, again), a...

News Test Track to be reimagined

They're not footing the whole bill like some people seem to assume, but they're contributing a large chunk to it.
