    Splash Mountain fall refurbishment 2017

Unfortunately, DL's Splash needs a very extended refurb to address the newer DOSH safety guidelines that prevent many of the current operational issues (animatronics and lighting) from being addressed via normal nightly maintenance due to fall protection concerns. As always, it's on the "to...

    A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

Yeah, the robocoaster has been a complete fiasco. I have yet to see them operational at any Disney Park around the world.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

The queue to the trip up to the Destroyer to the actual RV will certainly cause a new debate on "where does the ride begin". It's easy to see where MiceChat got sidetracked by their initial understanding of the attraction as with just a basic understanding of how to get from point A to B caused...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Well, I don't recall seeing a First Order Star Destroyer parked on the model.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

The RV on the Destroyer is supposed to be a small floating troop transport similar in nature to other Star Wars speeders. In reality, the trackless RV tech perfectly is suited to the task at hand. There will be flight; but, not using that RV.

Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

Yes, I'm sure that the demand for the first new E-ticket in more than decade at the vacation capital of the world, located in a park that only has more ride capacity than DHS because of the pathetic current state of that park, in a land that had another E-ticket planned and removed for budget...

Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

You know the unfortunate truth... this is a true statement. EPCOT of today will be a better park in the future with those new attractions. It's not because the new attractions are IP attractions though. It will be because they are NEW. Offer a prisoner held in captivity for 20 years some...

Na'vi River Journey reviews, comments and questions

Things I didn't know - this thread has taught me acceptability in an attraction in 2017 is determined by having a good finale with one "world class AA". I didn't realize River Journey is actually a trip back in time to 1964. Of course, in 1964 you spent as much time with that one "world...

    News Tomorrowland love

RMC's built from scratch steel models are based on the soon to exist Raptor line and the not yet purchased/announced T-Rex line. Both use the same track shape (T-rail box beam). Raptor is the smaller scale/gauge and T-Rex is the big brother. Raptor is designed around single row seating and...

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

The streetmosphere is one of the intriguing things about the project. Scott's group is keen for this to be one of the difference makers between it and his last project (Potter) as his hands were tied by Rowling in some aspects of what they wanted to do (story telling). It's quite ambitious...

    Incredible Hulk Refurbishment Confirmed

B&M has different color compounds (that have different colors) for different ranges of speed/temp. The white ones are on the softer/slower side and you'll see those in the majority on the Orlando rides because of the heat. All the trains are new when it reopened, so they are in the best...

    Incredible Hulk Refurbishment Confirmed

Just a reminder that Hulk's smooth/rough factor is simply a byproduct of the condition of the wheels in use. Since they didn't replace the launch mechanism during the refurb and are continuing to use the friction drive tire system, they can't use B&M's tensioned and adjustable wheel assemblies...

New Paradise Pier billboard... in DHS

Lest ye forget... this is the same company that has an entire line of merchandise dedicated to things you can't ride ANYWHERE anymore. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/08/yesterears-vintage-apparel-collection-coming-to-disney-parks-online-store-on-august-18/ "'Member all those great...

That's because SWL was designed for Disneyland and adapted to fit (twice) into DHS.

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Nothing has changed that has been told to me either. SWL is locked in as locked in can be at Disney. The inside of a First Order Star Destroyer is expensive as the new trailer highlighted.

Avatar Flight of Passage reviews, comments and questions

FoP in my book is the current pinnacle of simulators in my book. It takes the lessons learned over the course of time and simply refines them; but, the end result is that it is still a simulator. That is the hurdle that it can never overcome and is one that is prone to the downfall of all...

Joe Rohde in EPCOT on 9/30

I recommend some light reading for the executive saunter through EPCOT these days... seems appropriate simply based on the title.

    A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

This "new" sense of "paid entitlement" is something I fear is getting very out of hand at the US Disney Parks. I'm not naïve enough to say that there was never a modicum of this from the very beginning of Walt's fantasy playlands; but, there has been a significant uptick in the quantity of...

    A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

I think the Universal exclusivity is up as other people have purchased it (there's one in China); but, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a regional exclusivity clause that it can be sold within "x" miles of the properties that have purchased the RoboCoaster RV. For the Falcon, the current RV...
