Disney is an interesting beast. I left full-time a couple years ago for another company and a nice, much better paying job with a regular schedule, good benefits, a desk, etc. But every day I sit at my desk, I miss working at Disney more and more. Low pay, crazy hours and even crazier guests...

I heard the same.

I was mistaken earlier. Everything is pointing towards the tractor being attached to the train when whatever happened happened. Doesn't sound like it was a test, at least not in the sense of seeing if the Monorail stopped before it rammed the tractor.

Knuckle! That's the word I was looking for. Towing a train up or down a hill is always nerve wracking because that's when the angle of tow bar changes and puts the most stress on the knuckle.

When I was there and something similar happened it was not the tow bar itself that broke, but the "clamp" on the train itself failed and opened back up which released the tow bar, which caused the tractor to accelerate into the cab (the train was being pushed). No idea if that's what happened...

I think it's my fault. I had been told by a CM who was there that the incident occurred during the testing, and that the train hit the tractor while under its own power. I now think, according to the reports, that the train was in tow when the incident happened. Something similar happened to...

I think this is more likely. I was told otherwise by someone there, but the quoted story makes more sense to me.

Disney says the tow bar broke during towing, so that could be the cause.

Coral has, well, HAD, both of its original cabs. I'm hearing during automation testing the brakes on Coral failed to stop it before it hit the tractor. Edit: Disney is saying the train was being towed and the tow bar broke. I'm not sure which happened.

Monorail Coral on Express hit "something". That's what I know so far. Nose is damaged.

Not saying it's acceptable, but hatch covers and those door access panels came loose almost daily when I worked there. When the hatch cover comes down, the car should be deadheaded until maintenance can reattach the cover.
