Gotta say, I'm pretty frustrated with the back half of X-Men 97. After THE episode the pacing slows way the hell down, almost to a crawl. It introduces a bunch of stuff that, unlike the first half of the season, made me feel like I was genuinely missing something by not watching the original...

This was a genuinely terrible month for movies. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was pretty solid but definitely didn't live up to the two Matt Reeves movies (Very much an "in between" movie for me. Better than "Rise", worse than Dawn and War). Furiosa was decent with Hemsworth in particular...

@mickeyfan5534 and I actually attempted this in January 2021, with minimal crowds and no Genie stuff to deal with holding up the standby. We got relatively close, but ultimately it was the length of the AA shows combined with a rather lengthy Small World breakdown that killed us. The shows are...

As a fellow Yellow Submarine enthusiast I can vouch that the structure takes on much more of a Frozen Ever After "tour through familiar locations using a continued minor plot point from the original story" than just a straight up book report.

I'm a bit more meh on Furiosa than I wanted to be, but it's still pretty rock solid and I'd give it around an 8/10. It's obviously just going to be a challenge living in the shadow of Fury Road. I'm all for the film having a way more methodical pace and larger scale to it, but MAN I really felt...

Also, do you have any idea where the movie was actually set? That's one thing the Reeves films excelled at a lot more. I could have sworn Proximus's lair was in New York because I thought that was the Brooklyn bridge in the background, but if that's the case would they REALLY not at least tease...

What I would do is go there for just a night or two just to see the strip (which is a spectacle that's still very much worth seeing in its own right) and especially do OmegaMart which I haven't gotten to yet but should be an absolute freaking MUST DO for any fan of themed experiences. After...

It turns out one of the two Giant screen/Atmos theaters at my local cinema is down due to technical issues so I guess that explains the Apes thing. When I saw Dune Part 2 on that screen I did notice a single dead pixel so I'm assuming that problem got worse and I'm glad they're taking the time...

My energy levels are finally back to normal after the trip and I'm ready to complete the rest of the ranking. Before I continue, I need to give a dishonorable mention to the REAL worst attraction we visited, an attraction that was such a nothingburger I literally forgot to include it. The...

This seriously might be THE worst week of new summer releases in recent memory. Freaking yikes.

The big criticism I keep hearing is that the human characters are pretty bland, which is relatively par for the course with these types of movies. I'm just super frustrated that it seems like unless I want to go way out of my way I'm not going to be able to see it on any kind of special format.

For sure, Indie darlings like Hit Man and Sing Sing are definitely going to be a saving grace. With the first half of the year having such a rock solid one-two punch with Dune and Challengers, I'm genuinely worried that the rest of the year is going to struggle to live up to that.

Really starting to feel the cynical slog that is the summer movie season. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is one of the few franchise movies I was really looking forward to, and in spite of the somewhat mixed reviews from the story department the one thing I keep seeing is how visually...

Don't forget to explore the greater Balboa Park area as well. There's a ton of cool museums there as well as some very historic buildings, most notably the filming location for Xanadu (you can actually get a really dramatic view of that by riding the Skyway at the zoo around sunset, just a...

Alright kids, it's time to rank the stuff I did on my Vegas trip! A LOT of it was stuff on our GoCity pass that we probably wouldn't have done otherwise. There's a dinosaur exhibit at the Horseshoe for example that was so blatantly made for really little kids that I felt straight up embarrassed...
