    Permits 2024

Yes...that is from when they originally installed the lounge. They have remodeled the lounge several times since then (new signage, new flooring, new furniture, etc.) and to my knowledge there has never been a permit involved during that work. Of course they had to get a permit in 2016, there...

    Permits 2024

I don't think there were ever permits filed for when they remodeled up there before though? It would have to be something pretty significant. They wouldn't expand it into more area of the old Image Works, would they? It seems silly to touch anything up there unless it were something like that.

Rumor WDW Rumor Tracker - Revenge of the Fifth

I don't think we will ever see a Discovery Island development. Too much hassle and far too much other land on property to develop first.

    20K/Small World Rehab Connection . . .

You never know, sometimes people just take 12 year breaks. Maybe they'll be back tomorrow to catch up on the thread. 🤣

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

This gets brought up constantly, and I strongly believe it's nothing more than an urban legend. If it weren't safe up there it would not be open right now with even less exit points available than there were in 1982.

News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

Call me cynical but I really don't expect anything for EPCOT at D23 aside from maybe a Test Track mention. DAK/MK/DL Forward will definitely dominate the parks panel this year.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Lol that's poor phrasing on my part - I meant those are likely the most expensive elements of the central plaza area. In my head I was ignoring CommuniCore and focusing just on the new walkways.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

The hub definitely did not cost anywhere close to that. Significantly more went into Guardians and it wasn't over $500M. Other than rehabbing CommuniCore East and putting up Plaza/Hall, this entire project was removing some old pavement and installing some new pavement. The lights and the Walt...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

The sad part is no it wouldn't have lol, we got the better plan of the two

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Obviously nobody is expecting multi-billion dollar structures at EPCOT, but the point of EPCOT failing to build anything architecturally interesting in the modern day is valid. EPCOT's architectural legacy in the 2020s so far is making one building from the 80s look significantly worse, a couple...

News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

What intrigues me most about the idea of Inside Out going into Wonders is what they do with the dome. Realistically, they won't put Inside Out in anything other than the Cranium Command theatre. You can leave Body Wars and Frontiers and all that area empty, but there's no getting around needing...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

@marni1971 would know better, but it's my understanding that breaking the original ensured there will never be another there because of some kind of structural reason. It sounds feasible, but I seem to recall there being something precluding it.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

It's "intact" the same way the sunken floors in CommuniCore are. Structurally yes, it's there, but modified to the point where it will never be functional again. Speaking under the assumption that they could theoretically "bring it back" - it wouldn't be what was there before. It's no longer...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Resurrecting the original ride is significantly easier said than done, they did a lot of damage with JIYI. You can't put the turntable back, you'd have to do some insane crafty thing like making five dream mobiles that move on their own around and around in circles. The rest? Yeah, it could...

News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

They refer to it as an "other world showcase" pavilion in various places. I assumed it was a remnant of when they were desperately trying to find a way to justify its existence at EPCOT since it's never mentioned in the attraction but they still put it on merchandise. It's insulting because it's...

News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

Guardians is already an outpost for a fake country in not-world showcase and it's insulting too.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

On one hand, terrible. On the other, an improvement is an improvement I guess. There is no chance they do a 1:1 restoration of the track unless they do some crazy stuff with the turntable. It'll never work like it did before again.

News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

Apart from what Alicia has said, I've heard nothing about Inside Out. That said, I have heard that they've been looking at Wonders again recently. It would make sense to me if these two are related, however I must reiterate that this happening would be extremely funny to see after they gutted...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I thought the "Apple Store" criticisms of Creations/Connections were a little overblown, but this definitely feels like an Apple Store. Curious to see what this area actually ends up looking like at opening.

News Test Track to be reimagined

They would build a new figure lol, no sense in bringing back one from 40 years ago which has already found a new permanent home. It would probably cost less to make another one than it would to negotiate for the original back.
