Might want to take a peak at labor force participation. That would paint a much different picture of the “tight” labor market you speak of.

I agree 100% with everything you said here. I’m not saying throw caution to the wind here and drive 120 mph on a highway without seatbelts. But yes… mask in settings such as airplanes and movie theaters. But don’t let COVID be the reason you cancel upcoming vacations. (Again, assuming you’re...

In other words… if you are vaccinated then live your life and stop worrying about COVID. https://www.yahoo.com/news/covid-19-risk-vaccinated-people-123559748.html

I think it was criminal when they shut down in March of 2020. I went in January and August this year and not a single member of our party contracted COVID. And if you really think about the numbers the VAST MAJORITY of people that attend the parks don’t contract COVID. Next time you have a...

Well Florida has peaked as cases have leveled off. So the decline is coming and within a month case counts will be far lower.

Went last week when Florida was “on fire” and entire family is fine. Just goes to show it’s far more likely to not come down with COVID versus catch COVID from the theme parks. But the media continues to make it seem like if you even leave your home you will get COVID. Nonsense.

Highly unlikely. Especially as more people get vaccinated and therapeutics become more accessible and easy to administer. Don’t forget that the flu strain that caused the 1918 flu outbreak still circulates today but we are much better conditioned to handle it.

While it will never “go away” (just like all other coronaviruses on the planet) it will be mitigated and become something we live with. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wpbf.com/amp/article/usf-researchers-florida-will-reach-peak-of-covid-surge-next-week-herd-immunity-sept-11/37342961

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

Considering the odds of transmission while outdoors are astronomically low then yes it is a great idea.

About time. It was ludicrous that I had to wear a mask while on an outdoor attraction. https://.com/2021/08/breaking-walt-disney-world-removing-face-mask-requirements-for-outdoor-rides-queues-and-attractions/

Cases will peak shortly as transmission continues to regress (as its doing right now). I’ll come back in about a week as case counts decline (just like they did in the UK) and we can pick up this discussion from there.

The science is literally telling you that the rate of transmission is plummeting and will be below 1 by the end of the week. Why did you make this political? My original post simply stated the scientific facts of the current status of the virus. Nothing about politics, masks, or having...

Hey look at that another day of declining transmission. If you have a trip upcoming in September or October please don’t let the media influence your decision. Instead look at the raw data and follow the science.

Take a look at that plummeting R0… I have to say I called that one. Just a reminder the CDC used a model with an R0 as high as 5!!!! #NotEvenClose

It was a “public health emergency” in 2020 before anyone was vaccinated. Now, it’s only a dangerous pandemic for those that have chosen to not get vaccinated. Therefore, zero point in closing the parks as the vaccinated are taken the proper precautions and can attend the parks safely.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Three short months ago India was having over 300k cases a day. Since then their curve has dropped (as it always does with viruses). So to compare Florida to India is beyond absurd.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Never again. Disney would never admit it publicly but closing their doors in March of 2020 was a mistake of epic proportions. The economic carnage and the man hours required to get the parks back online were mind blowing. Right now Disney is doing the right thing and allowing consumers to decide...
