News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

So you mean I shouldn't complain about something I have incomplete knowledge of? That's not the way the internet works! But on a serious note I was floored hearing that the ride was a 500mil investment and worried that the level of theming we've seen to date has not been RoR level of amazing...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Of course it's not finished and that pic has been around since November of last year too. Hopefully, they pull off something amazing but at 5x the cost of Expedition Everest and 200mil more than Rise I'd expect to see more structure to support theming and animatronics. I guess I look at this and...

Two words "Olive Garden" Epcot's new slogan... "When you're here, you're family" Food and wine entry now comes with endless breadsticks, soup and salad. OK, I'll show myself out.

11 Days for us! Just booked it last night when the park reservation calendar opened up. Surprising our high school senior today during his senior parade! Can't wait!

    Park Reservation System

Any indication on when park capacity might increase again. Flight prices are low for when we could go in June but only Epcot available now. Kind of a bummer!

NY Times: Bob Iger Effectively Back As CEO

I have to imagine that is in the works. AMC will be looking for some help and the movie studios can't afford for them to fail.

What's Still On and What's Now Off

I'm sure at re-opening it won't be 100% but after being sheltered at home for 4 or more weeks it is hard to predict how people will react. I feel like this period of being sheltered is like winding a spring and bottling up potential. China has shown that people want to get back to human...

What's Still On and What's Now Off

That's impressive! I'd guess food service has the longest lead task to review, order and receive goods. Ride and show quality probably is only a few days to ensure everything is safe and reliable.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Both my wife and I are working from home. I'm afraid my wife is going to report me to HR for harassment!

What's Still On and What's Now Off

In our capitalist society, wall street demands returns and shareholder value. Responsible corporations maintain cash and liquidity to weather a crisis, which Disney has (had) over $10 billion. For a company that depends on social interactions as part of business this is beyond catastrophic...

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

Timing is a bit off for him to decide to be a candidate but if he pulled this ripcord he must see a path This was all said in front of one of the board members who echoed what he said. If the board wants to oust a CEO its because they want to send a message to Wall Street. this isn't that. The...

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

We had Iger in a month or so ago for a corporate thing. He made it really clear that the board bought into the Disney+ and Fox acquisition being a long term play and there would be a dip in earnings for a few years. If anything early Disney+ results have been above target so the board should be...

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

Timing is interesting given the current Democratic Presidential slate. I'm spitballing here but my gut tells me that Bloomberg tapped him to run his campaign and be his VP if nominated.

An absolutely fantastic read that should be mandatory for all of us

Nostalgia sells to a small group. Sure I miss things from my childhood and early adulthood trips to WDW but I appreciate that things have to change. I just got back from a trip and was really excited about some of the changes especially GE and RTOR. Reading the article just made me feel...

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

I like facts so I went to an article published by The National Ski Areas Association on chairlift safety. I know they want to promote the safety of their operations but their report primarily talks about chairlifts where the occupants are unrestrained and not gondola systems which I would rate...
