    SPOILERS: Indiana Jones 5 (Jun 30, 2023)

A lot of people were unhappy with his casting as well when it was first announced. And considering recent revelations about him, I'm inclined to agree. I was never a fan.

    SPOILERS: Indiana Jones 5 (Jun 30, 2023)

She's second billed. Shia LaBeouf was the co-lead of the last movie and he played the similar new generation role. I'm not sure why it's a controversial statement to say that. Every Indy movie has always had a co-lead like Marion in Raiders movie or Sean Connery in Last Crusade.

'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

Disney hasn't done a smaller animated movie since Lilo & Stitch. And especially after Frozen, every animated movie since then Disney has been trying to recapture that success but not every movie can became an event film like Frozen.

'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

You can add Zootopia to that list as well. Huge hit in theaters but has no cultural longevity or merchandise to sustain it. Moana didn't win Best Animated Feature at the Oscars and made almost half of Zootopia but that's the movie children remember. Something all those movies have in common is...

    SPOILERS: Indiana Jones 5 (Jun 30, 2023)

One line at the end of the trailer technically counts as talking, I suppose, so you're right there although I still wouldn't say that counts. I've heard some people speculate on Twitter that they deliberately only had her speak right at the end so disgruntled fans wouldn't turn the trailer off...

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

The problem is not everything needs to be a cinematic universe. I think the MCU's success has been one of the worst things to happen to cinema, in part because every studio suddenly felt the need to jump on the bandwagon and establish their own shared universe. Disney animated movies have never...

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

That's my concern as well. Before Enchanted came out, a lot of Disney fans were concerned it would turn out to be a brutal parody like Shrek but that wasn't the case. However, the Disney company has changed a lot since 2007. That princess scene in Ralph Breaks the Internet was absolutely...

'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

Not to mention Star Wars has been a dud in China and they've been increasingly blocking Marvel. I don't see Disney going out of their way to antagonize China further and have their animated movies, whether WDAS or Pixar movies, blocked for much longer because of objectionable content. They'll...

'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

This is right on the money. I saw with reactions to Turning Red that a lot of Disney's goodwill with parents has been lost and that didn't even feature a gay character. The Facebook moms group were all over this movie, explaining how they used to think they could put on any Disney movie for...

So, who do you think, overall, has been the best CEO of the WDC ???

He definitely wasn't perfect but the parks were never at their worst under his management the way they are now. And I definitely preferred the movies Disney was putting out during his era. Even the direct-to-video sequels were never as detrimental to Disney's film library as the live-action...

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

It's amazing how formulaic Disney's animated movies have become in the past decade and not even in a good way. I know people are concerned right now that Wish could be a box office flop if it has a gay lead and it would be sad if that was the case. However, the fact that this movie seems to be...

'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

All of those other movie blockbusters are superhero sequels or sequels to kids movies based on popular IPs. Top Gun was technically also a sequel, but it's completely different from the rest of the franchise blockbusters we saw this year. Elvis is really the only other sole exception that became...

    SPOILERS: Star Wars' ANDOR

Yoda is the character who came to mind for me as well. I'm assuming it must sell well enough amongst children and pre-teens which is why Disney still keeps publishing in this era. It always felt like the target audience was more for a younger crowd, even though they had some teen and adult books...

'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

The MCU movies also tend to have more explicit language and crude humor. The Star Wars movies are way more family friendly in that regard. I'm not a parent but I didn't care much for Tony Stark calling a little boy a demeaning and sexually explicit term in Iron Man 3.

    SPOILERS: Indiana Jones 5 (Jun 30, 2023)

I was responding to your question about why I felt the lack of an actual Disney at the helm of a company showcased a lack of integrity. I didn't feel I could give a clear response without fully explaining why I felt that way. And much of what I said holds for Indiana Jones as well. I was looking...

    SPOILERS: Star Wars' ANDOR

I just rewatched the Gremlins movies and it dawned on me how similar Baby Yoda's design was to Gizmo. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a heavy inspiration for Baby Yoda's character. I think Rogue One had a two-hit punch of Darth Vader's scene plus all the main characters being killed off...

    SPOILERS: Indiana Jones 5 (Jun 30, 2023)

Roy Disney has only been dead for a bit longer than a decade. His presence helped create a balance in the company during the Eisner era and I think many of the heights the company reached were precisely because of that friction. I called it a lack of integrity because Disney's current direction...

    SPOILERS: Star Wars' ANDOR

When The Force Awakens came out, I had been in a Star Wars lull for a while because I was never a huge fan of the prequels, especially the Clone Wars, and all the new Star Wars content prior to the Disney buyout was Clone Wars related. While I enjoyed The Force Awakens, I wouldn't say it made me...

So, who do you think, overall, has been the best CEO of the WDC ???

Eisner was the best. I wish he'd come back. The Bobs are both equally despicable.

    SPOILERS: Indiana Jones 5 (Jun 30, 2023)

The reason I'm inclined to believe time travel is the plotline is because of the fact that this movie was in development hell for years and kept getting pushed back over and over. Suddenly Endgame comes out, focusing all on time travel, and is a huge blockbuster which makes me wonder if Disney...
