…this monument to igerian failure will never not be funny 😂
What’s funny is that you blame Iger. You may not know this but Iger didn’t come up with the story line or design it or build it. That was Imagineers (and contractors). If you dislike it you should point your finger at the people that actually did literally all the work to make it a reality, not the CEO who listened to their pitch and gave it a green light. Do you give Iger credit for all the things you like, or at least are deemed successful, that happened during his tenure?

It’s an interesting thing that people tend to give Imagineers credit when they like something but blame the execs when they don’t. It’s a team. Successes are attributed to everyone involved, from the execs all the way to the Cast Members in the parks. Same goes for the failures.

You know, in hindsight I really think we were being mean and unfair with the Spirit Halloween jokes. At least with Spirit Halloween, regular people can still go there. And they don't even charge you to enter and just look around at the stuff on display. Some of their stuff is also genuinely pretty cool and can be bought at relatively sane price points compared to Disney's crap. They even tend to have way more animatronics than most modern Disney attractions, with more movement than some of Disney's too (shooting a filthy look over at Tiana's critters).

So to Spirit Halloween- I apologize for besmirching your good name by comparing you to the Starloser. You're far better and deserve more respect than that.

(I'm still going to make Spirit Halloween jokes whenever Disney closes something though because it's very funny)

Bob Iger signed off on it. The buck stops with him fullstop

Who bought the property, greenlit the management, didn’t bother to understand the fandom at all, and proceeded to decree a reboot (Michael arndt) and commence a program of slapping labels on cheap knockoff product?

You’re looking at a fishbowl floating in an ocean

They torched the whole thing from day 1

That’s why this is a physical monument to failure

Good job missing the point.
The point of acting like it’s not a top down dictatorship run by the financial analysts?

Cause it has been for decades…you spun the fan/emp mythos from yesteryear.

Nobody has any influence or power. Including WDI…they just don’t believe it. Any crap is greenlit as long as the numbers and revenue analysis fit

So you’re saying like RotR or GofG are also Iger failures? Those are other things greenlit by Iger because the numbers and revenue analysis fit.

Of course decisions are made by looking at financials, that’s how business works. That’s beside the point. You want to hang the failure of Galactic Starcruiser around Iger’s neck as if he is solely responsible for it. That’s fine, but when you do that you need to also praise him for the successes that happened under him and give him I sole responsibility for them. (Which is also silly, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone that believes any one attraction was the complete brainchild of one person and fully realized into a final product by that same one person.)

I knew they were going to destroy it the second I found out they had acquired it. I just wish I didn't turn out to be as correct as I was.

Which is why the days of major corporate monopolies controlling most of what we hear eat and consume are likely and hopefully nearing their extinction.
