If they could just restore the attraction to the original with the Roger shaped hole in the door being in a closed door rather than an open one, fog coming up from the sewer, fog in the dip queue room, liquid for the dip sprayer effect, and classic Jessica; then I could rest happy. RRCS is incredible and it's sad to see it whittled away through neglect. I certainly prefer it to MMRR.

damn when I last rode RR it did not seem neglected at all to me. All the sets were right and the affects all seemed to work? I think its one of the best classic on rails dark rides at any disney park imo.

I haven’t bothered to ride Roger in 20 years. I appreciate that it adds another dark ride to DL’s impressive roster, but yeah. Great Movie Ride had more “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” vibes than Car Toon Spin.

And since this particular IP is withering from neglect, the ride seems to ONLY continue to exist as a consolation prize for when MMRR is closed.

I predict that within the next 20 years, there will be some new “toony” hit franchise that will take over that space. (I could almost see Zootopia there, but Z works better when it has a land of its own.) Yes, Toad may be even less culturally relevant, but MTWR has a smaller footprint - not much would fit in that space with modern, inefficient space requirements.

I think Roger Rabbit is worth it for the queue alone

My guess is WDI has already drawn up plans for a new Bluey Land in a DLForward plot. So even if its not a Roger overlay we're getting more Bluey at some point in the near future.

The rumor was they were thinking about replacing it with a Ducktales 2.0 ride during the Toontown update. It tracks as there was that post that left out RRCS from the concept art that said “exciting things were coming soon.” At some point they backed out.

I have 0% faith that modern WDI would create a better attraction. Especially within the existing building and all its constraints. So for all my complaints I guess I better shut up. But the truth is the truth. I only really get Roger vibes in the first half of the queue.

I don’t think it’s long for this world. I think it’ll be replaced within the next 10 years. The ride will be worse but I guess it’ll be more relevant.

I’d be sad to see RRCS go, I think rides can exist independently of the popularity of their IP: Mr. Toad, Splash, Dumbo…

Agree that it’s probably on a list to eventually be refreshed, but I’d hope they prioritize things like Tomorrowland or the DLForward expansion plots first.

A part of me would be sad to see it go. I wasn’t arguing for its removal because it doesn’t represent the IP well. I wasn’t arguing for its removal at all. Just explaining why the attraction leaves me cold.

What other zany toony attraction can go in there?

Calico Rapids down the road has for more to see. Disney took log rides and made Splash Mountain. Disney took rapid rides and made Kali River and GRR, two very basic and bare bones attractions which essentially give us a very traditional experience but with better looking scenery.

If you want an example of a well-executed rafting adventure, look to Popeye and Bluto's at IOA. The layout is really fun to navigate through, filled with story elements and gags, great use of ride features to build and release tension throughout.

If Disney would add music and animatronics to the adventure, you'd have something better fitting a Disney park. I'd kill for a version that felt like DCA's answer to WRE. Instead, we got a quiet spin through trees and rockwork, like every other rafting ride around.

I was looking at the new show scene they’re adding to WDW’s big thunder mountain and couldn’t help but think how much something similar with more of a grizzly bear emphasis would elevate the GRR experience.

Some simple outdoor bear gags with very limited movement, something a little more extravagant for the cave scenes and the ability to dial down the wetness for colder months would go a long way towards making this an attraction a must do every time, and not just when I’m overheated. I think the improved capacity could go a long way towards making DCA feel more complete once this tranche of expansion is done.

Maybe it could be a little improvement they can market around in an “in between” year without any major additions for DCA

I think something based on the Silly Symphonies would be cool. Pay homage to Disneys past while keeping expectations in check. You put the old charming stuff and peoples expectations I think are much more in check. You put some new hot IP and people will be upset it wasn't bigger/better.

Seth Rogen is making a new Darkwing Duck series, I could see that going there if it's successful. Duck Tales could've worked too.

A ride based on a Goofy Movie could work, since the movie has become a fan favorite, and the characters already have a presence.

I like RR too, but I also think it won't survive since Disney doesn't own the IP.

Why is Disney opening a headliner attraction focusing on a villain from ~10 years ago when their next 'huge/massive' villain films (Doc Doom) are coming out soon?

I still chuckle thinking about their 'King Thanos' announcement and the literal crickets response.

I'd love a Lonesome Ghosts dark ride (a silly, kid-friendly spooky ride). The facade would be modified to be the office of Ajax Ghost Exterminators.

And then the ride would take us to the haunted house and all throughout the house with the ghosts doing their antics...
It would much crazier and cartoony than Haunted Mansion.
