Rumor Potential New Magic Kingdom Area Hotel

Sorry I found the 2025 numbers. Discounts doesn't mean there isn't still demand... We know Disney makes bank on the hotels even with a discount.

Ok…you did your research…you just got a D- on it.

Rooms available this week…and next

Why does they matter? Because it’s supposed to be MOBBED!! 😱 with half the US megalopolis schools off…

But no.

Speaking of not adding rooms…have you noticed how many they’ve REPLACED with timeshares? Because those are sold like 30:1…it’s almost guaranteed attendance.

And when have you last been? It’s been light…like embarassing so…for large chunks of the year for the last going on 5 years…

Have been?

On another note, I think it’s funny that many of us here were called a lot of things for merely suggesting that a hotel going into Villains would be a good idea and that it seemed to be something Disney was interested in.
To be fair, we also said the same thing of Disney...

What gets ignored in this discussion of in park hotels is how close some of these examples are to other parks nearby

Disneyland Hotel in Paris is a short walk to Disney Adventure World, same with Grand Californian and Disneyland Park. The MiraCosta is two monorail stops away from Tokyo Disneyland. They aren't just convenient for visiting the one park they're adjacent to, they make visiting their resorts as a whole easy.

A hotel on the north end of MK would make for a simplified visit to that park, but nothing else in WDW. Not even nearby hotels. It's a long bus ride from the monorail resorts to DS or AK, but at least you can take the monorail to EPCOT or other hotels. You couldn't even do that with one north of Villains Land, unless they drastically change the monorail loop. It would still be busses to anywhere else and at the price point this hotel would charge, that's not very luxurious or desirable.

Unless it's primarily sold as a one or two night experience to enhance your MK visit specifically.

"Disney was considering this 2-3 years ago!!! SEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Just because they considered something doesn't make it a good idea, no matter what kind of "gotcha!" you think you have. Hint: You don't have one.

*Checks notes, article, and deposition*

Nope. It still isn't happening. Can this be dropped finally?

I'll take your points one at a time.
1) Rooms available this week…and next
Looking at the WDW website if I wanted to book Sat to Sat 4/4-4/11 (2 adults).
I see availability for AOA and Coronado Springs... and that's it every other hotel is unavailable.

Obviously this doesn't mean that every other hotel has every single room booked every single night... but I would call that pretty full.

2) Speaking of not adding rooms…have you noticed how many they’ve REPLACED with timeshares?

Why wouldn't they? That doesn't mean demand for normal hotel rooms is low... it means demand or profitability for DVC rooms is higher... it speaks nothing to the actual demand for hotel rooms in a vacuum, only in comparison to DVC

3) And when have you last been?
Not sure it's super relevant because anecdotal evidence doesn't really matter, however it was November 2024 for me. Had a disney cruise and a new baby that kept me out in 2025.

Do you have any hard evidence that the Disney resorts are not in demand?

I think they should add a hotel to epcot. Theme it to venice Italy and make it the new Italy pavilion and redo the current Italy pad to Greece. Heres a sketch i made for a different thread years ago. This is obv a very rough draft but you get the idea, a fully immersive block of venice, with boat ride through canals, shops, food and hotel like Mira Costa but even bigger. all rooms would face inward of course

Exactly, and even the new hotel they've announced for Shanghai that will border Shanghai Disneyland is on the plot between Disneyland and the potential 2nd gate. It benefits guests more if they can visit more than one park, ideally by walking or Disney specialty transport (AKA not buses)
