MK New Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Updates Coming to Walt Disney World

The funny thing about the re-theming of that store is with the removal of the "Mickey's" in the name it is one of the few times in WDW history that something with an IP attached actually had it's IP tie-in removed. Only other one I can think of is Circle of Life into Awesome Planet. In the last ten years especially, that is virtually unheard of.
A few more:
  • Tarzan Treehouse to Adventureland Treehouse
  • Pizza Planet to PizzaRizzo
  • Honey, I Shrunk the Audience to whatever Imagination is now
  • The Seas with Nemo to SeaBase with Nemo (maybe half-credit here)
Unfortunately, I can also think of several shops, restaurants, and attractions (and even a couple resorts) that have simply been de-themed altogether...

I love it. Cleaner lines, less busy, and more elegant than the previous entrance and marquee.
Looks soooooo much better now.

Pizza Planet and Pizze-rizzo are both technically IP. What HISTA is now is just embarrassing and are there changes to Nemo I didn't hear about?

Well can rate this refurb 9.5/10 and that’s only because Buzz should have been updated.

If he is replaced in the future I will give the full ten stars. I’m so excited to see how Big Thunder turns out because I have a feeling that’s gonna be another huge win for TDO.
Perhaps some perspective, instead of blindly fawning over what was done. They took one of the most neglected, worn out, and dirty rides at the MK and put in the bare minimum amount of work into bringing the ride to a passable state.

It's sort of like the arsonist burning down their own home and then claiming they're a victim.

Or, and hear me out, we can just enjoy the fact that the attraction got some much needed updates that look to have been done well and leave it at that instead of constantly having to add a caveat to every positive thing that happens. It is okay to just…be satisfied with something and that be that. You’re not going to drop dead because there’s not a huge negative to discuss.

You're certainly entitled to have low standards. I don't.

I agree they really should have done this throwback to 1971 Tomorrowland all around the same time rather than just slowly phasing it in over the last fifteen years like they have been doing let alone thinking they have to do what they are doing to Frontierland beforehand. The priorities for MK over the past decade plus have been quite bizarre.
Agreed - but ‘slowly phasing in’ suggests they had a plan. Feels more random to me.
