Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Now Open!

OMG - where did all the "STARDUST IS GOING TO BE CLOSED FOREVER BECAUSE OF STRUCTURAL DAMAGE" posts go. Some people are way to hyper critical of this product (Uni). Universal came out and said that they wanted to fix and help the operational output: There were MANY vehicles since opening not operating fully, with empty rows abound.

All of the vague, "I heard something REALLY BAD WAS HAPPENING" comments just look terribly laughable right now. When you even consider that none of those posters actually said what they heard -- clearly slop aimed at damaging online reputation on these boards.

Universal really should be more forthright about what occurred with Stardust Racers. Gaslighting that it was just totally planned and normal does not reflect well on the industry.
My gut feeling is that their attorneys made them go over it with a fine toothed comb and to show they "dotted their I's and crossed their T's" before re-opening.

There was like one post and it wasn’t just accepted as gospel.

I did think it was odd that Stardust was completed like way before anything else at Epic, when it seems like it could have been one of the last things completed. Does the downtime relate to that in any way?

The idea being that they might open up celestial park without a ticket.

There is zero foot traffic access to the place -- Unless you're already coming to Epic, there is no reason to deal with trying to get there. And frankly nothing is there that is interesting that isn't somewhere else.

I mean, even if they put in fireworks and fountain stuff.. would you invest 30mins to get there and probably an hour to get out of there to see that?

I struggle with this concept...

(Edit: ok, I forgot about SDR.. but still)

Honestly, yeah, I think AP entry after 4pm would actually work great in the park. I would come in later in the day when it cools down just to eat and maybe get a ride on Monsters and Stardust. I have a feeling that a lot of other APs would be content with that as well. Epic is a great "third space" kind of park and it would be an interesting experiment.

You mean like DL APs treated DCA? How did that pan out? :)

Can you elaborate? There's like no comparison to Epic.
The idea of just hitting a park for some highlights and leaving..

When AP holders had free add on for DCA (because no one was paying for it outright) APs would visit DCA - but never commit to full stays there. So key e-ticket attractions got clicks, but the park as a whole suffered.

Dropping in for a quick ride or two doesn't carry the load.

SDR wouldn't be accessible. You don't think there would be a subset of USO APs that would go to Celestial park for dinner (where by all accounts the food is quite great), watch the fountain show, enjoy streetmosphere, and hit the nintendo store? I'm not saying it will be thousands of people a day, but it would basically be free food/merch sales for pretty minimal effort.

I don't think they will have access to any rides (the rides are already swamped), just the shopping and dinning in Celestial park.
That's been discussed for a while.
Yes... but according to Len Testa's podcast, additional work is being done on the portals to make this happen. I assume this means USO is considering this sooner rather than later.
